Default Ps3-wii-xbox consoles

Does anyone know if there is a place where you can Rent the consoles? Not just the moves and games. I would like to try out the PS3 or Wii before I shell out $200-$300 on a system.

Thank you for your responses

IMO too many accessories and over priced wii games are designed and marketed 99% to children expect those stupid fitness things they have.

Just get both then return the one you don't like. You can rent the games you want to play at blockbuster.

Yeah instead of renting one...and the money u spend renting goes to nothing....My suggestion is go to BEST BUY....if you have a best buy card you can get 6 months no interest on a xbox 360 or ps3....pick one and if you dont like it...you have 30 days to return it...If you like it keep it and pay the 300 in 6 months

I would almost be sure to say either 360 or ps3 u will enjoy...im not going to suggest a wii unless you have a wife and kids that want one...but dont waste time on a rental.

You mean like PS3 Blu-ray remotes, extra controllers, eyetoy, etc?

Or the add-on for the 360, extra controllers, and the upcoming Natal?

Yeah, no accessories there.

Also, who cares if games are meant for children? New Super Mario Bros. Wii is possibly the most challenging Mario game ever. Just look at that thread, some folks have had to use continues on the first world.

Just because games may {or may not} be meant for children doesn't mean they're not fun, it just means that more people are able to purchase them and play them.

yeh but you dont need any of those to play games on PS3 and xbox. Wii you gotta buy a nunchuck for this games a wheel for that game and a gun for that game just to play the game the way it's meant to be played

I'm guessing that you don't actually own a Wii.

Because you really don't have to do that at all.

the point is that is how they want you to play it, a different accessory for almost every game type. there is probably more accessories on this one page for the Wii than accessories that have existed for the 360,PS3,PS2,xbox all together

Accessories Bundles
Did you finish reading my post?

The wife and I only have the 2 Wiimotes and Nunchucks, nothing else is necessary.

Plus, most of what you linked too isn't even made by Nintendo. It's just knock off companies that want to make a fast buck off of the most popular gaming console.

We're getting a little off-topic here, but:

Me and my girlfriend own a Wii, it's a lot of fun and all but there are a LOT of accessories. They're not "necessary", but they do add to a game (ie: Mario Kart wheel just makes it more fun).

I have a big cardboard box to throw all my Wii stuff into. 4 Controllers + 4 nunchuck add-ons + 2 Motion Plus add-ons + 2 racing wheels + 1 gun + charging dock + more is a lot of crap even when compared to 4 PS3 controllers + USB cable + BD remote (which I also consider to be a lot).

My worst pet peeve is needing to pull out different combinations of all that junk depending on the game I'm playing. At least with the PS3 I only need my controller. I should make a spreadsheet of required accessories for all my Wii games

I really have to agree with this. I only have a few games that I like (Tiger Woods PGA Tour, House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, Mario Kart, Carnival Games, Wii Fit)

Nothing to do with accessories. I do feel like a lot of the games are intended for mostly children. A lot of games have tons of reading more than actual gameplay. I've played more games I don't like than played games I have liked. Call of Duty (to me) isn't a good game on Wii, the controls are horrible.

Accessories for PS3, there are a lot but they aren't something you NEED to get. For 360 I don't know because I don't own one but I'm sure it's the same thing.

I would like to "rent" an Xbox, I've read a lot of negative reviews about them. But they have a lot of games that PS3 doesn't have that I'd like to play. (Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2)

If there are games you'd like to play, then rent or buy one. They're great machines outside of their over-publicized failure rates. I've had mine for a few years now. I've lately been playing mine more than the PS3 but both are great machines. The Wii- well honestly, I kind of wish I would've saved my money on it. I don't play it much with the kids and thus don't really play it much at all. There are currently no games I'm particularly interested in on the console (outside of Mario).

The better question between which system is what type of Gamer are you?

I love the Wii. My wife loves it. Co-workers love it. I've only played a few games on PS3 and don't care for too many either.

Wii is about fun games. PS3 and XBox are for "serious" Gaming.

Have any friends that own the systems you want? play theirs??

That brings up a good point.

The Xbox 360 and Ps3 folks seem to think that they have a right to being 'gamers' or 'hardcore' gamers when in fact they're just forgetting their roots.

Gaming came from systems like the Atari, where Pong was the best game in the world... two sticks on either side of the screen trying to keep a pixel going back and forth from 'scoring' on your side.

Games are supposed to be fun, now, to me, killing a hooker to get your money back isn't fun... does it make me less of a gamer? If you're high on Doritos and Mountain Dew probably, but not to anyone that really matters {which is the personal perspective btw}
