Default Assault on Precinct 13

Anyone seen this blu-ray yet? There is only 1 review on blu-ray.com and I was curious if someone could give me their opinions on the disc.

Any online reviews would be nice as well. Thanks!

I have heard from multiple people that it is a reference transfer.

It was the first Blu-ray disk I purchased, even before I had a Blu-ray player. I like the movie; I need to watch it again soon.

For the best experience, pick the French soundtrack.

If you like parcour (urban on-foot races like in the opening scene of Casino Royal), then you will not be disappointed.

Bhahahahahahaha!

The movie you are thinking of is District B13.

This thread is about John Carpenter's 1976 film about a police station getting attacked by a crazed street gang.

my copy came in last night... watched it and the PQ & AQ are remastered really good. I wasn't expecting it to be very good, knowing how some of the older flicks don't get remastered all that well..

the music of John Carpenter got me pumped during the opening credits hahahaa... like always.

definate buy i feel, because this film has come along ways from all the vhs and dvd transfers, and this one is the best looking and sounding version i've ever seen.

OH OH, and yes the ice cream scene is intact...

I know right!!! i wish they would keep transfering all his films like in a row, and not jump from here to there and do one movie at a time hehehee.. that would rock.

I'm ready for those you mentioned and escape from new york, and they live.

You fail to realize that its not just one studio that has the rights to all of Carpenter's movies.

The reason why this looks so good is because Lowry Digital is the company that did the restoration work. Assault has never looked better.

That's weird - mine will not play on my UK PS3 - says player region does not match disc - region A disc.

What model PS3 do you have - mine is original 60Gb version.

It doesn't work on my european PS3 too. I bought it in september, and it was the new 80Gb model.

I have the impression, that, some disc are region free some doesn't.

I tried to contact Image Entertainment, but the email you can find on the website doesn't work, so I sent my email to all the adress on the site.

Everyone who has this problem should do the same, I think.

Right now, I haven't any answer yet.

But I told Amazon that my disc doen't work, and they refund me, and I don't have to send them my item back.

I have a couple of friends who work there and they did tell me that they are currently working on Alien, Aliens, True Lies and The Abyss.

They unfortunately would not tell me if the cuts are theatrical or the Director's versions. All of them are currently set for a 2009 release.
