Default Dual Shock 3 Rumble Flaw/Issue?

Okay, it appears to me that its not possible to have 2 rumble controllers hooked up to a PS3 playing a game and have 1 set so the rumble is off and the other one set where the rumble is on.

This is really basic, but i think sony doesn't have this worked out and its not on my end, can anybody figure out a way to play a multiplayer offline game and have 2 DS3s with 1 having rumble on and the other having it off. I hit the PS button on one, turn the rumble off, but then it switches both controllers off. If I try to turn the other controller with rumble back on, it switches my rumble back on.

I am not sure. I've never heard that before. Why do you want to have 2 people playing, but only have 1 person with rumble on?

MLB 08: The Show rumbles if you are pitching the ball out of the strike zone. Your opponant can hear it and knows the next pitch coming is a ball. So the rumble is hurting my strategy.

However, some people who only pitch the ball within the strike zone like having the rumble on as it tells them the perameters of the strike zone.

I like having rumble off, my friend likes it on.

maybe its just us, but we don't like the analog sticks on the original sixaxis, they are more stiff.

We got 5 controllers between us. 2 DS3, 3 SA. and even if i could pick up a used one for cheap that did feel right, im not going to blow 20 bucks for one single game, with one single person.

I get why you want it off. That does hurt your strategy LOL Idk, I haven't noticed a difference between the analog sticks of SA and DS. If nobody here has an answer try sending an email to Sony. Instead of hiting the PS button to turn off the rumble, how about in the game options? Is there an option for turning it on and off per player on there? Kind of like how you can set invert on for player 1 and invert off for player 2.

The one that came with my 60gig didn't have the rumble feature in it but the new one I bought of course does. If you can find one of the originals on eBay, your problem would be solved!

Have you tried running a fan or music at a low volume while playing? Basically, just something to mask the noise of the rumble. Maybe that would help while waiting for a fix.

Thats what he does, and it turns both off. But he wants to leave one on.

I'm surprised there isn't a setting within the game to turn rumble on or off, as it seems like that would be the easy solution (assuming each player had their own sort of "profile" with their preferred settings).

re-reading his post, you are right, at first I thought he tried on/off in the game
