Default this tv good or am i screwed

I just got a mitsu wd60c8, are mitsu good tvs? i cant wait to get blu-ray on it, but i herd that these tvs dont produce real 1080p. anyone else herd this? when i was making my decision on getting a dlp, plasma, or lcd. i read dlp dont have that many problems. except somthing called the rainbow effect, and bulbs burning out.

anything else i should know about dlp?

Mitsubishi makes a very good HDTV!

...and it will be full 1080p.

Where did you hear Mitsubishi HDTVs don't produce real 1080P? I have a 65" WD65734 and blu-ray looks beautiful on it.

Thumbs down

DLPs are great sets but it is a dying tech. The bulbs burn out every 3k-5k hours...the light engine burns out every 15k hours or so. You get a good deal per inch but you pay for it later if you keep the set for a long time.

If you're looking for a short term set then you are good to go...if you're looking more long term go Plasma or LCD.

Video processing: Although the WD-65735 did technically pass both the Video Resolution Loss and the Film Resolution Loss tests from the Silicon Optix Blu-ray test disc, I have to say I am not impressed with the video processing. The picture appeared noisier than the other two displays, and the test pattern for one-for-one pixel mapping from HD Basics clearly showed a loss of resolution, which is caused in part by a sort of keystone correction Mitsubishi employs on this TV. The bottom line is that the set is effectively kept from delivering full 1080i or 1080p resolution.

this was the only review i could find on the mitsu dlp tvs
i know its a different tv, but everything should be the same. am i right?

i dont really care that i got to replace stuff, its the best bang for the buck
i got a 60" tv for $1500, that has 3 hdmi, and plays 1080p. to me thats a hell of a deal.

Mitsubishi makes some great HDTV's. Check my sig. Got it for like 2,400.00. Best bang for my buck. Fantastic picture. My buddy got the same sized one about 5 years ago and it is still going strong, the only difference is his didn't have any HDMI inputs, the cabinet was huge and he paid 10,000.00 for it.
