Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)

I would rate the PQ about a 4.75

I've seen much worse movies recently compared to RE3. War & Hitman are the first two that come to mind. The only thing I did not like about this movie was the assembly line zombies that came out of the storage container near the end of the movie. Overall this is definitely a movie I can throw in the player every now and then when I'm bored. PQ is a solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.

I wanted to sit in the sidelines on this one, but I can't let you go spouting false information with the presumption that you are the expert on the Resident Evil franchise.

Really? Well before pulling out any numbers, let us consider that Resident Evil has had two sequels. I'm sorry, but they don't make sequels to movies if they don't make money.

The first movie had a worldwide gross of $102,000,000 from a budget of $33,000,000. The second movie brought in $129,000,000 and the third one upped the revenue again with $147,000,000. These movies make more money than than a lot of other movies out there, and they are only gaining in popularity. Of course, a money issue is one thing, but your biggest mistake was this:*

Apocalypse was given the lowest score of the three with a 5.5. Keep in mind, these are the fan reviews, ie: the players. The first movie was in many ways true to the game. The narrow hallways, the camera angles, the design, the first movie was a very good adaptation. They strayed from the games with the subsequent movies, and yet you praise Apocalypse as a the best while at the same time trashing the series for not being true to the gaming roots.

I don't mind if you don't like the movies, but don't go trashing the games and insulting the people that defend them if you don't have your facts straight.

Don't put all of your stock in citics because most of their review is opinion. There is no objective viewer. I would suggest getting a netflix account and renting every blu ray before you buy it just so you can review it yourself. Thats the only way you will get a solid review that you can rely on.

Heck, Hi-Def Digest gave 'MI:III' a 5 for PQ and I personally think the PQ sucks worse than the 'House of Flying Daggers' PQ, which REALLY REALLY sucks.

"RE3 looks a lot better in Blu than the film print I saw. Of course the BD isn’t as many generations removed as modern, commercial film based projection. But it almost doesn’t even look like the same cinematography in terms of resolve. Sony has done a superb job as usual in preserving RE3 in high def, leaving little room for criticism outside of subjective appeal. Fades, transitions, none revealed any significant problems with compression. The grainier and other more demanding scenes appeared very well preserved by the discs allocated bit budget."


I owned this movie and i highly recommend it for everyone who likes this title

So it's better to defend a point with false information than to refute one with proof? I like your logic there

Also, films make money because people pay to see them (obviously). Doesn't any film (of this type) deserve a sequel if it more than doubles its projected budget? From a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense not to. Sure, you can't do a sequel to Titanic, but for a movie like Resident Evil, why not?

They did. Its called "To raise the Titanic". I figure if someone has the Kahoneys to do a movie on desicrating a sacred mass berial site based on a real life event, should be no problem to make fictitious movies RE 1 thru 87 without batting an eye. Gotta ways to go to catch up to Friday the thirteenth franchise though.

I thought the PQ on M.I.3 was excellent. Loved the movie too!
