No, not at all. When the movies sit on the shelf you can't tell the difference from a US and a Canadian Blu-ray. Not sure about the games though.

You may want to check that. They have the annoying habit of trying to squeeze both english and french on the spine for some titles. Not sure if there's a rhyme or reason though...

![]() Back cover has summary in English and French (which I find to be really neat) ![]() Inside is the cover in French (so you if you live Quebec you can flip it and have a French cover). This isnt as cool as what Sony, Lionsgate, and Disney put on the inside of Blu-ray covers but it is worlds better than the plain white interior of WB, Fox, Paramount, Weinstein, and Universal Blus. (agian I find this to be neat) ![]() The spine isnt exactly like a U.S. release but it isnt an eyesore either. Just has the Title in English and French (dont know why that would bother anyone) ![]() |

hey guy, i can assure you that the canadian title on a blu-ray is very often under the english title and not very big, in fact sometime it's not even there at all. very often all you see is the words (version francaise incluse). i know i'm from the province of quebec so... there's no need to go crazy over this after all what matter is the movie not what the image inside the case look like. so enjoy your blu-ray and stop insulting us canadian we are good people.

I'm a Canadian and I have to tell you that I purposely buy some titles in the US because I don't like the bilingual covers if the French is too prominent. Most titles, as mentioned, has the French slightly below the main title or a "French version included" in brackets to let you know the cover is reversible, which satisfies both sides without being too in-your-face. But when it's 50/50 English and French or (much worse...) when the cover is reminiscent of a movie poster and the French just barges in like an obnoxious drunk cousin at your wedding reception, I'll go out of my way to get the US version. And if your main concern is continuity, The fact that the bilingual rule isn't consistent across studios nor is it consistent across titles from the SAME studio, you can see how it can really irk some people. For instance, I have all 3 of the LoTR Extended Editions on DVD, and 2 out of the 3 only have English in the packaging. Luckily, the 3rd one has the French just in the booklet, not the cover itself... but why the switch? Who knows! Either way, just do your research so you can gauge yourself what's acceptable for your standard of French intake. vive le bleu-ray! |

What I have found is that unfortunatly in series it's been difficult to get uniforminity at time in the packaging. Some release will have French on it others won't. Usualy I won't care about the language. I love to watch movies in the language they were made. So if they are from the USA I don't need to have a French track like 90% of all people. If the movie is from China I prefer watching it in Madarin or whatever with subtitles.

We're Canadian EH! And that's what it's all ABOOT!
We also have this annoying habit of inserting a U in words like Favourite, colour. And we spell Center as Centre. We drink copious amount of beer...REAL beer! Our guard-dogs are BEAVERS! It snows a lot, but that ok, you can write in it (see Beer)! I like my back bacon with Quebec Maple Syrup. I like my Poutine with extra gravy! And I order my beer 2 at a time! Beaver Tails are a delicacy! Our Thanksgiving is first (October)! I hear the cry of a Loon..means it's time to do an aboot face and get myself over the the rink for some shinny! MORAL: With all these differences, you think we care about the packaging being different? Hell, NO! |
