Default Any news about Big Bang Theory on BR?

Googled it but couldn't find any rumors or hints about a Blu-Ray release of Big Bang Theory.

Not that I've seen. And the DVDs hit a couple months ago, so I'm unfortunately losing hope.

Okay, i've seen threads on TV shows coming out on DVD here and if they'll be on Blu or not, but I don't get it. Unless it's an action type show, or very good drama type series (think True Blood/HBO or Deadwood or Sopranos, even Dexter on Showtime), just a regular normal Network show on Blu doesn't hold a "when is this show coming out?!" high interest for me. You might be getting a better PQ yes, but beyond that, what's the use for a network to spend more $$$ to put their show on Blu when the regular DVD will look Better anyway due to the Blu Ray players "Upconvert" on SD DVD's anyway?

Yea, the girl on this show is hot, but is anyone that desperate to see her on BLU vice regular SD?

The point (for me at least), is that it AIRED in HD. Why would I buy a DVD with subpar quality? I want to experience it the same way I experienced it the first time, or better. Why would I want ANYthing less than perfect picture quality? I should just go ahead and buy the DVD because its 'good enough upconverted'? No way. That's like buying a PS1 and saying it plays games just like the PS3 does, so it's good enough.

The show is popular, and it airs in HD. There's no reason why they can't release it on Blu if it has been released on DVD.

As for those "action type shows", I don't like any that you mentioned. I don't understand the "comedy shouldn't be on Blu" mentality.

I think the "Tv on blu" idea really hasn't caught on with studios or the public yet. What's been the biggest selling set thus far? Perhaps the studios don't see a point in it...or haven't done masters for it. I would assume much more time/work goes into putting together an entire season set in HD than 1 film. Personally, I'd LOVE some Law & Order on blu...but they barely do widescreen on DVD.

I would love for more shows to be on blu like psych, the mentalist, fringe and others since they air on TV in HD.

My wife just bought the DVD set yesterday. I don't buy anything but Blu-Ray, but she can do whatever she wants. Of course, I would have preferred Blu-Ray, but the DVD doesn't look bad at all. If it was one of my favorite shows, I would have held out for Blu-Ray. I still haven't purchased 30 Rock Season 2 on DVD because I hope for a Blu-Ray release. I agree with the above poster - if it was originally broadcast in HD, it's definitely preferable to get the Blu-Ray version.

The only news I have about this show is that I have begun watching it recently. That's great news isn't it ?

What a shame as I would rather not buy any more DVDs if I can avoid it. I am having the same problem with Battlestar Galatica where I keep buying the DVDs but I am watching it in HD on Sci-Fi... and I know I will have to repurchase it on BR when it is released.

I would love to see this show on blu-ray. It's my favorite show currently on the air, and I won't buy it on DVD because DVDs of TV shows look like crap. It's not the format's fault, it's the stupid morons that release them and shrink the master so bad that they barely have 4 Mbps at the most. That might work for old small tube TV sets, but when you watch them on a 40" LCD set from a BD player it looks awful. I don't know if they are doing something similar for TV shows on BD, but I really hope not.
