Default red tint in the blacks

when i play games on ps3 the dark areas of the games have a red tint to them is this normal

It's called "Red Crush" - I have the same issue on my television, it's a well-known issue with some Philips panels - but strangely, not on all movies - just detected it so far only on a few scenes in Orphanage and Pan's Lab - but it is controllable via adjesting the RBL in your custom color settings on your TV, if it has been calibrated.

Hmm. My Kuro did this w/ Pan's Lab today again. I'm beginning to think it's my disc. Defective, maybe? It's a diff player, diff display fromt he last time I viewed my Pan's Lab disc.
