Default New Subwoofer need to buy cables

I just bought a definitive CLR2500 & Supercube3 to finish off my home theater. I have a question as to where I can find a high quality RCA Cable as there is a large distance between my cabinet and my sub ~40 Ft. I was also hoping to get everything on monoprice as this is where I have gotten all of my other cables and have been very happy. Also according to the salesman at 6ave I can also connect my clr2500 via RCA for the built in sub. Is this necessary or is it overkill? I appreciate your help as I am fairly new to this.

Subwoofer cables are the same as digital coaxial cables. Make sure it is RG6, double or quad shield. Do not buy regular RCA cables as they pick up noise and hum when you touch or move the cable. Try Monoprice.

A cheap alternative is to get a regular RG6 video cable from Walmart, Home Depot, etc. and attach two F to RCA adapters to both ends.

(Subwoofer cables are the same as digital coaxial cables. )

So may I ask this what your saying is I can use a Highend Subwoofer cable for My Digital Coax cable for my new Marantz DV-7001 for Audio (CD) Playback only. And get the same Qualty. As buying a Digital coax cable?

I'm asking because I'm looking for a special cable and having a hard time finding it, But I have found the Subwoofer cable in the series and bought one already for my sub, and it's awesome , so if you'r saying its the same cable I could cheat and just buy another sub cable for my digital coax cable, This would end my quest to find the impossible one Im looking for .. LMk thanks so much ...........sandman

As long as your subwoofer cable is a genuine sub cable, you should have no problem using it as a digital coaxial cable. I woudn't use regular RCA cables.

yes its a genuine sub cable , It's the Monster Z-Bass 100 subwoofer cable. I have been trying to locate the Monster Z-200-D Ditgital coax audio cable in 6/8 foot , but having a hard time finding it. I have found it in 4M , but just too short for the run.

I have upgraded all cable's to the Monster Z-Refference Series and I am very happy with the results , I really can tell the difference. The only thing left is to add Z1R- speaker cables to my surrounds, Last thing on the list to do's, LOL. Thanks for the info BD, sandman

there should be a sub cable that comes in the box with the subwoofer, mine did...

i ended up not hooking it up and traded it in for a thicker, more shielded cable, always knew it wasnt good to use the "stock" cable that comes with the subwoofer since most companys just add it in there because it "works" and is cost effective & cheap..

good to know some other people knew this already, the cable that came in the book looked like your Cheap Dollar Store RCA cable

I have this one. It's a very professional looking cable. Very well shielded and gold plated ends.

I know I'm going to get some hating for this, but I gotta recommend Monster's M-1000 series of cables. I just got 3 of there HDMIs on ebay for $59.99 each, and, WOW, what a difference.
Going to upgrade the Sub, Component, and Fiber Optic lines to these as well.
Pretty sure they offer a 40 ft length too, and they promise no signal loss, hums, or buzzing. Plus, Cables for life, if a you need a better cable somewhere down the line (like the changes announced for HDMI at CES last week) you can trade yours in for a new one.

There is a high line of cables (I believe the z series recommended by Sandman there, I got your back buddy, monsters are better!) but I can't afford those prices. Maybe if a set fell off a truck some where...

I am by no means trying to start a fight or put down anyone elses suggestions or good experiences they had with monster...It is just a fact that a monoprice cable will perform just as well as the monster cable at 1/8 the cost...The only way i would ever consider a monster cable is if i had to run over 100 feet of cable or something like that...

While I agree, do we need to go down this road again?

If you want a quality cable, check out www.silversonic.com. Also, check to see if your sub/receiver supports XLR connectors. I've noticed an improvement in my sub after switiching to a balanced connection.
