Arrow Jim Carrey as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol

Update July 19:

The international Trailer is available to check out. Click the pic to check it out:

It's in Italian

Quote:
MarketSaw has a photo of a promotional poster for Robert Zemeckis‘ A Christmas Carol, which features a first look at Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge. I took the image into photoshop and realigned the angle for better presentation.

The film is being produced by Disney, and like Zemeckis last couple films, was shot completely using performance capture, and will be distributed in 3D. Carrey also plays the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.
Colin Firth plays Fred and Gary Oldman plays Bob Cratchit, Marley and Tiny Tim. A Christmas Carol is set to hit theaters on November 6th 2009.

So Jim Carrey's career has reached the same point as Eddie Murphy's where he's playing multiple characters in the same movie?

This is more like what Tom Hanks did in Polar Express

the only difference here is that Jim Carrey can still ACT

Looks like an awesome movie to compare with Polar Express. I just saw the 1960 version of A Christmas Carol this Christmas and thought it was the best version EVER! Maybe this will change that feeling.

And when Robert Zemeckis realized that by hiring one actor to do half the voices in the movie, it cuts down on actor salaries...

(And as for mo-cap, remember that this movie went into production BEFORE Beowulf--'Nuff said.)

Looking forward to this, I think Jim Carrey was a good pick-- let's hope it turns out to be!

Damn I'm pissed to find out it's motion capture. The best part about Jim Carrey is his subtle expressions.

I may be the only one here, but I'm just over Jim Carrey.

Gary Oldman, on the other hand... amazingly versatile actor.
