Default Denon AVR-2809CI Receiver Thread

Denon AVR-2809CI

DENon 9-AVR2809CIa THREAD.jpg

I ordered the Denon AVR-2809CI from 6AVE.COM (authorized dealer) and used coupon code: AFLAUD25 (25% off!).

crackinhedz shared the code back on 11/30/2008 and it is still working as of last night (1/18/2009) so I give him the credit and feel that I need to pass it on...this is truly a good deal.

Sorry, but I couldn't find a dedicated thread for the 2809CI.

$750 huh? Awesome!

I'm going to order one of these as soon as my year end bonus comes in and everytime I go to 6ave.com and enter that coupon code it only drops to $899

They must have dropped their price from $1,199 to $1,000

Let me know how you like the receiver once you get it all hooked up, I'd love to know.

Yes, it did drop to $1000, making it $750 with discount...and I just couldn't resist! Now I will see the message "Dolby True HD" or "DTS-HD Master" on my display instead of "EXT IN" Now I need to get rid of my Denon 3802.

Dang, I paid 1100 for mine so that is a steal. Also, yes it is nice to see that displayed as the actual codec.

My biggest deterrent from getting the 2808CI is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs. So when Denon came out with the new 09 series they increased the inputs making the 2809CI with 4 HDMI inputs...believe me, this is a big leap forward.

I myself dont have any need for more than 2 inputs either. TV can be components and do the exact same as HDMI since it only goes to 1080i...

I have the 2808ci and the only thing I have going HDMI is the PS3. Everthing else like cable box and xbox are 1080i so you can run component.
