True, but i've known people to run everything through the AVR.

right... but i would probably only run my PS3 and i guess i could run my cable box... thats it though.... is there any reason to get the receiver your talking about then or you think ill be good with the 2808?

Go to the Denon web site. They have a list of all authorized dealers.

I have the 2808ci and the only thing I have going HDMI is the PS3. Everthing else like cable box and xbox are 1080i so you can run component.
