I understand the bag caught it and pulled it up but that doesn't explain why the nail was there in the first place.

[Show spoiler]Are you just assuming that they are only vulnerable when their flaps are open? I don't remember this being mentioned at any point earlier in the movie. I just assumed that they had no weapons for the first 3/4 of the movie. When she pulled out the shotgun and shells I'm like "oh! well why don't they just shoot it then" it's just a giant bug after all.

I watched it yesterday and I very much enjoyed it, the opening (before the title came on screen) totally shocked me since I've never did read no spoilers before I watched it.

[Show spoiler]After the opening and it switches to the farm house, they show a number of written notes and articles displayed in the basement. On one of the notes shown it mentions that they are armored.

Normally, you hammer a nail in a step from the top, not from underneath. The pointy part was sticking up from underneath, even if it was pulled upward by the sack.

If you're all clear there, it's possible that one of the HDMI ports has gone faulty.
I double check but im pretty sure everything is up to date. I know Dobly Vision was working with A Quiet Place. Like i said, it doesnt happen to every movie or every scene. Blade Runner 2049 was perfect all the way through, then Last Jedi was blue. idk.

Could be a bandwidth issue. And, as I mentioned, you have to use very specific ports on those particular units even if all firmware is up to date on the TV, player, and receiver. That's always an issue with more budget devices.

Also, get another HDMI cable and swap it out. Try various scenarios. Also, bypass the receiver and hook the player right to the TV's HDMI port 1 one time and see what happens.

Watched this last night. Great looking disc, some softer shots but overall a nice presentation. Dolby atmos though - made me jump in places, definitely a reference atmos disc!

Watched it this morning and it’s a really good movie. The Atmos is really good as you can hear the monsters creeping all over the soundstage. I couldn’t watch this movie any other way.

Thank you sir. I need to update my pics since I rearranged my fronts ands subs and added new posters.

When you say you used rtings, did you also use their white balance settings? If you did I strongly recommend you reset your tv and it could be why your blacks look off. Every display is different and those settings should only be changed if you have software and a meter. Also, you will need to lower your contrast when watching SDR because VIZIO clips above reference whites. Contrast should be at 45. I wouldn’t make any changes for HDR.

I didnt mess with the white balance, i just did normal picture settings. I would like it to be calibrated one day but im not quite sure anywhere around me does that and i think those meters are costly. i was thinking about getting one of those picture quality disks on amazon and doing that.

Okay good, not sure what’s happening then. I would probably reset the tv to its factory settings and see if it changes anything, just remember to turn Full HDR color on. If you do buy a calibration disc go with Spears & Munsil 2nd edition. It’s by far the best. Welcome to the rabbit hole
