I stay out of their forums. I don't hate HD-DVD like a lot of BLU owners, but if I want to talk HD or read the opinions of good folk, I come here. As far as HD news goes, they're pretty good. Although their reviewers used to seem as if they were leaning heavily towards HD-DVD, lately they seem to be coming around to BLU.

As long as you just read the main site parts yes they are, I get sick to my stomach even trying to talk about blu ray on their forums.

I wish it would close already, I want a lot of their Universal titles on blu dammit, I'm not about to go dish 300 bucks on a player for something that more than likely won't be around in 2 or 3 years. But I will admit I'm missing out on some great titles such as Children of Men and Serenity.

no kidding, IMO 300 sales on HD DVD vs. BD is going to make a difference in this war, and from what i see (in my store anyway) is that its hard to keep the BD's on the shelf, we anticipated selling quite a bit more than what they sent so we ordered more. we had 2 boxes of BD copys (about 20 per box) small boxes really, but suprizingly we sold out of both and still had ppl asking for copys. hd dvd's are still highly stacked in our warehouse and on the racks. poor HD DVD owners out there.... the death is coming quick. lets see what happens comes 2008

This Spidey box is gonna sell like hotcakes. Hopefully well enough that Warner's takes notice and decides to remove their head from their ass and finally let me purchase the Matrix Trilogy in HD. A strong showing from Spiderman in October along with 300 on BLU wiping the floor with the HDDVD's should be enough to get Warner's to put those babies out. But since that would be the intelligent thing to do, we'll probably have to wait til sometime next year.

exactly what was discussed at NATO. the sony rep said that sony is aiming for an october release. now keep in mind for the special box set the U.S release will be getting a similar box set as of the french release. for spidey 2, it will be a spidey 2.1. all three films will be getting uncompressed PCM. Again this is a reminder that it was discussed at the NATO conference. so its not 100% yet. It is by far what sony is aiming to do. personally i would love to have spidey meeting up with the above goals. AHHH the possibilities.

I am so excited about this set!! Now all we need is Lord of the Rings & Star Wars!! What the video looked like on the Spider man 3 sampler disk from best buy was amazing!! I'm glad I moved that dvd rack in here. I'm going to have to use 2 shelves by the time that comes out!!
Mischa.

"Spider-Man 3" has become the second summer theatrical blockbuster to get a home video release date in the lucrative fourth-quarter sales season. The year's No. 1 movie, with a U.S. theatrical gross of $336 million, will be released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Oct. 30 on DVD and on Blu-ray Disc, the next-generation, high-definition format.

Also available are three-packs of all three Spider-Man movies in standard DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The latter package, "Spider-Man High-Definition Trilogy," will be the only opportunity consumers have to buy the first two "Spider-Man" movies on Blu-ray Disc.

Good grief....where to start?

1. Even if SM3 is a 100GB set, the price is a joke. Especially when I can pick up a fully loaded 75GB set of Pirates3 for 35 bucks.

2. Forced boxset ------ Hello???

3. How long has SPE had to whip us up some form of a special edition SM1? PLENTY long...

I won't quite be needing a tissue here, simply due to the fantastic job SPE has been doing for while now, BUT, for the love of god, is this how you treat your flagship franchise
