I'm kind of on the new side to the pulldown and 24p discussions. Can someone give me the short version of this technology? Is it a deal breaker? I currently have the panasonic BD55, and am thinking about the panny 80u in the next 6-9 months. Budget concerns are going to keep me in the 1K to 1300 range.
I sort of understand the "original format" arguement, but am just not sure how it affects viewing. Thanks. |

The true 1080p/24 feature is important but contrast ratio, black levels, and shadow details are more important for over all image quality. Here is a link to displays that handle 1080P/24 correctly. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=5155 BLU-RAY still looks great at 60HZ. BLU-RAY looks better during camera pans with true 24p refresh rates. |
