I hated this movie back in the day, but have this morbid curiosity to re-visit it now like 15 years later. Guess I'll have to find an unrated dvd. Ironically I never see this in the free bins at the used stores (I have passed on Catwoman from those, 3 times!) and that's about the price point I'm looking for.

But if you just want to see Pam naked, there's no shortage of material. Many Playboy spreads, 2 sex tapes, a couple other bad movies (Snapdragon or Naked Souls) and with the internet, all can be seen with a simple search. You don't have to resort to this movie is what I'm getting at.

Am I the only one who actually read the Barb Wire comics before this abomination of a film came out? I honestly thought the movie had a chance to be alright, before seeing it.

Just by reading this thread (and watching some clips on YT), I'm interested too in revisiting this. Last time I saw this was on VHS (which was unrated in my country).

I'd actually like to be able to choose between the theatrical cut and the unrated version. The unrated version is roughly the same thing expect for the intro sequence that is MUCH longer - way too long actually. The theatrical cut's intro is perfect. It's to your face, it's sexy, it's energetic... it sucks you in and starts the movie. The unrated cut sucks you in and then drags you for soooo long that you loose interest before the movie actually starts.

The German bluray already has the unrated cut and all the extra footage is lower res. Pretty distracting.

I still want the unrated cut for the sake of having it but the best way to enjoy the movie is definitely to watch the theatrical cut.

What I like the most about the German unrated cut is the 4:3 retro version that is offered which is true open matte. I found the unrated footage to be less distracting on this version

Been wanting to add this to my collection for ages and keep debating whether to pick up the German release. Hoepfully Mill Creek can make this the definitive release. I like the cover art for this one.

Mill Creek and "definitive release" should never share the same sentence! Most of MC stuff, esp their versions of existing movies already on BD are the same, just stripped of features and often lossless audio tracks too. Although, recent output looks like they are fixing the audio issues and going lossless more than not now. But, they are a bargain disc company, don't do SE's, and certainly don't do definitive versions.

When Mill Creek is the one releasing a movie or series never get your hopes up. It’s better to have low standards when it comes to a Mill Creek.

That's a shame; I'm not familiar with their other releases. Fingers crossed this turns out OK; if not I'll look to pick up the German version.

I'm sadly expecting the worst after reading the last few posts. Plus the key selling points in their sell sheets make no mention of exclusive content or a new transfer.

Happy they tried something new with the artwork but that flat background makes it look taken right out of the bargain bin (I gotta say I always thought the original promo photoshoot was too plain and posey to start with). The unrated steelbook looks 100x better though the copy I'll most likely watch again is sadly still the very first US or German blu ray.

time to go to the eye doctor then. she isn't a good actress but isn't horrible considering what roles she had. it's not "hard" to figure out her appeal.

nothing in movies is "real" so i guess you could say she is a marvel of "special fx" to each his own. obviously she had a great deal of appeal to a lot of people. not you but you are just one person with an opinion.

Thought she was great in this. She never claimed to be a great actress in the first place but she brought a lot to the part. The way she looks being one thing (whether people like it or not it’s perfect for the part) but more importantly she has the kind of self awareness that was just right to go over the top with the character and still bring out her humanity.

Even Roger Ebert gave her a thumbs up for the movie.
