Well here is my story how I'm getting the Sammy.

My Toshiba REGZA 47HL167 which I bought in '07 had some problems with the screen (black spots) so I called about my extended warranty (a couple of weeks ago), after someone came to the house they said I needed a new screen. They were waiting to hear about the replacement screen which is going to cost $1,400 before repair fees. What's happening now is the warranty company did a buy out for my purchase on the set. I received a check yesterday for my purchase price of $1,650, I immediately placed my order for the Samsung LN52A650. It's gonna be like watching movies for the first time again plus I'm upgrading an addition 5 inches, not to mention my Toshiba didn't have the 120Hz option.

Oh yea I almost forgot, I still get to keep the Toshiba! I asked my friend if he wanted it for $600, he's gonna let me know.

It depends on your area. The one here wont be closing till March, as of yesterday they are up to %60 off everything in store. Plan on hopping in there this week and checking out the TV's and games again.

Just got mine today! I have a few questions, I went to TweakTV for the settings on the 650, under the Picture options it says to have Film Mode on but the only options I see is Auto1 and Auto2. Which one should I leave it on?

As far as Auto Motion Plus 120Hz what setting should I have it on for TV and Blu-ray/HD-DVD films?

When setting up the calibrations for the other HDMI inputs I can't change the Film Mode option to ON, it's grayed out on all the HDMI inputs except the first one which I have my FiOS connected to.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm I dont think I have mine on Film Mode. If I remember correctly that looked too dark for me... There was this forum that I used to go to when I first bought it that hundreds of people were talking about the calibration of the tv.. I used to read it and try some of the configurations out.. In the end I went with my own calibration. Basically just do what you think looks good man.. I know there are tons of diffrent settings on that tv.. which is nice.. you can pretty much adjust anything..

Auto Motion I always leave it on Medium. But when you watch those blu ray animated movies like Kung fu panda or Bee movie etc turn it on High.. Those look even better when set on high..

I have my tv hooked up to a Denon with 7.1 mirage surround, 2 energy towers and a velodyne sub.. only downfall is I live in a condo and someone lives downstairs.. so I cant even turn it up halfway..lol

Let me know if you have any other questions...

Thanks bro for your help, now if I could get this F'ing Wireless infolink adapter to work. It's driving me crazy, I'm about to return this shit.

Edit: Finally got it to work..

As far as film mode I contacted Samsung, the reason why it's grayed out is you can only put it on if it's 1080i or less. Doesn't need to be on if it's 1080p.

I can't believe how much I'm in love with a television set.

This set blows my other set away, the PQ is truly incredible.
