Talking Season One of CSI Coming to Blu-ray

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2384

Quote:
Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: The First Season' to Blu-ray on May 12th. This highly popular television series, currently in its ninth season, has spawned numerous spin-offs and garnished a loyal fan base. Technical specs have yet to be announced, though early indication is that this release will receive a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Special features have also not been announced at this time.
Seriously, this made my Blu-ray career. This and X-Men. lol

This is such great news! Been waiting a long time for this in HD.

Let's just hope they preserve the 4:3 ratio of the first seasons.

Speak for yourself. I read that the first season was originally shot in widescreen and thats the way I want it on blu.

Though I'm not a big fan of this show and won't be buying it, I'm still happy it is being released. Hopefully the sales are good enough to warrant other catalog titles to be released on Blu-ray.

Agreed. I dont get the attraction to shows that repeat themselves show after show after show. Doesnt the novelty wear off after the 50th time?

I mean... its like "Oh look, we found a toenail in the woods. Jim must be the killer because he cut his toenails last week while camping out here." Case closed. Jim goes to jail.

See ya next week when we find a pubik hair on the shower wall that incriminates Bob....

Guess I'll have to sell my first season, and if the rest come out on Blu I'll have to get rid of the other seven seasons.

I'm extremely happy though as this is one of my all time favorite shows.

Please keep the CSI hate out of this thread! We don't want to have any CSI cases on Blu-ray.com!

CSI is/was shot in widescreen, alot of shows are shown as 4:3 on tv despite being widescreen.

Same here, I would love to have Bones on BD a much better show then any of the CSI shows IMO

But great news anytime something else get's a release on BD, hope for the future on the things I want on BD.

Dude, that's CSI: Miami. Definitely the weakest of the three. It's more like Law and Order IMO. But I think it's hilarious when he does that.

CSI New York is awful. CSI and Miami are both awesome. CSI is more intellectual while Miami has way more action.

As said elsewhere in this thread, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" was filmed in the 16x9 aspect ratio from the beginning. Paramount didn't preserve the 16x9 aspect ratio for the DVD sets... which means the only place you can find the earlier episodes in its OAR is in syndication on SpikeHD or various other TV stations...

Hm, you're right... Great news! I relied blindly on the DVD release. Stupid me!!!

Looking forward to see this in 16:9 HD then!
