I saw the original that Quarantine is based on (Rec). It is a truly scary horror movie. Probably the best I've seen since The Descent. However, if Quarantine is shot in the same manner, I would expect it to be much like Cloverfield's Blu-ray release (minus the huge monster and plus zombies). I say, if you can get a for a reasonable price, take the plunge.

I believe it was mentioned somewhere that blindness was going to see release later in the year. Not sure on that though. There has been a handful of movies that had the blu version scrapped. How to lose friends and alienate people, city of ember, blindness just to name a few. Hopefully we see all these later this year.

Here's my Quarantine Blu-Ray and Movie itself review:
Video: 4/5 Audio: 4.5/5 Movie Itself: 3.5/5 It's decent for what it was. The original [REC] is much better, but Quarantine is worth seeing, but it's basically a shot for shot remake of [REC] with sometimes even the exact same dialogue and camera angles. But, Jennifer Carpenter is a terrific actress in this and really shows amazing fear throughout. If anything, I recommend renting Quarantine to see if you like it, and then buying [REC] on Blu-Ray from Spain if you can. I bought it from Spain and it was well worth importing, but it's Region B so you'll have to be able to play discs from other regions to play this one, unfortunately. [REC]2 comes out reasonably soon, so I'm excited for that. [REC]: http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?n...icle&sid=14574 [REC]2: http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?n...icle&sid=25135 |
