Default onkyo 506 question Can anyone help??

I was at CC and thye had an Onkyo 506 for 199.99 I would be hooking it up to my Samsung 2500 anf 58a550 TV. Is this reciever going to give me the HD audio I would be looking for. Also they have boxes od Polk Tsi-300 for 110.00 are these good speakers for that price?

Receiver's HDMI is passthrough only, so no audio over hdmi. Which means that you would have to use the analog cables from the blu-ray player, which can only decode TrueHD and not DTS-HD MA. If you want all the HD audio, then you need to go for at least a six series.

the Onkyo 506 is HDMI passthrough, meaning you would not get audio over HDMI.

...But, you could use the multichannel Analog connections since your player can decode.

Thank you guys!! I just hooked the player up to the internet last week so I could stream netflix. I assume by doing that update, since it didnt give me a choice, I downloaded the DTS download as well. If I dont do the 5 series and go for a 6 series who has them for a good price, I am only looking to spend a 250-350 for a reciever. Also anythoughts on the Polk Tsi 300 speaks are they worth it for 110.00
