Default Heath Ledger -A Shoe-in for the Oscar?

I believe Ledger should win the Oscar.
If you read here - http://www.comcast.net/articles/ente...f.Ledger.Wins/ -
does it seem, with these complications the academy is goin
through to figure out who would get the posthumus award if he wins
that they believe it also

i'm not saying that he does not deserves it BUT my question is...
Is he winning it for the performance or because he died ?
I mean people are saying he's a winner for about 7 months... isn't that a little hasty ?

Mid twenties and still sucking his thumb? Wow.

Kidding.

I hope he wins. He deserves it. The character was so very far from his own persona. Huge target and gigantic leap to achieve it...and he did.

I do hope he wins because he deserves it..not because its the thing to do because he is dead...and for ratings or something. To me, reading comics...he was THE Joker. IMO, he played the Joker on how he was supposed to be played. I do hope he wins.

I would definatly be surprised to hear any other name annouced as the winner.
Im sure even "that" winner would be surprised and would mention that
Ledger deserved it.

The last time I thought anything was a done deal for an Oscar, I thought Brokeback Mountain was going to win Best Picture. The Academy has a way of being a fickle b***h.

An even better question to me is why does it take someone dying for good acting in a comic book movie to be taken seriously? How was Ledger's performance somehow beneath nutjob roles like Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men? It wasn't. Ledger was fantastic. Yet if he was alive, he would have been snubbed just like The Dark Knight, and ESPECIALLY Chris Nolan was snubbed. Nolan's direction was some of the best of the year, yet he wasn't even nominated. The film has plenty of flaws so I can understand why they didn't nominate it. But the direction is top notch and should have been nominated. Likewise for Aronofsky's work in The Wrestler.

Neither have I, and quite frankly I just laughed harder than anything RDJ did in Tropic Thunder.

I seriously hope he wins. His performance was nothing short of brilliant as The Joker. RIP Heath.

To be honest, the Joker is one of the reasons I have yet to see The Dark Knight... (the voice annoyed the shit out of me).

Will he win?
Probably.

Because he died?
I'm sure it will influence.

oh yeah DEFINATELY! Give me a break! Are you serious? Who is MORE deserving that you have the nerve to say if he wins its DEFINATELY because he is dead? That is insulting. His performance was Oscar worthy if ever there was one
