Default Want LCD TV for under 2000.00

I currently have the Sony Bravia 46 inch 60hz TV. I want to upgrade to a slightly bigger TV with an immensely better picture. I'll take any and all recommendations! I really need to stay under 2000, so please, no recommendations over that limit, because I won't be able to get them.

Either that or the 550 model. Those are top pics by Consumer Reports and CNET.com. And the shipping is really cheap on Amazon.... like $50 or so. I just bought my Sony Bravia 46" XBR6 120Hz HDTV last night from Amazon and the shipping was only $47. I could've afforded the 52", but my apartment is pretty small so I will just have to upgrade to a bigger TV when I quit moving around so much! lol Good luck and let us know what you get.

The LN52A650 sounds like a great choice then. I'll probably get that one from amazon. I just hope it works with me TV stand so that I can mount it to the back of it, otherwise I'll have to mount it to the wall.

Also, hopefully AVS forums has a good calibration spreadsheet for it. If any of you know of one, please let me know.

I would go with the XBR, but I want more than 46 inches, so that rules that one out (would be over 2000). Still, after reading up on this Samsung, it seems like a no brainer.

OH YEAH! This isn't quite the deal of the century(or even that great of a deal) but is an idea of what you can get in the range.

The Samsung LN52A750 is the best under $2,000 Samsung that Amazon has. Excellent review also, Samsung keeps improving on their TV's with each generation and the video processing is much better on the 750 compared to prior generations. Only better TV then the Samsung LN52A750 under $2,000 from Amazon would be the discountined 50 inch Pioneer plasma PDP-5020FD but that is a plasma screen and you were looking for a LCD.

Hmmm, a more powerful processor for only 100 dollars more. Seems like a hot ticket to me.

I know you said LCD (projectors are still the best) but that Kuro will definitely be better than that Sammy.

Yeah, but I really do have to stay under 2000. If it's 2050, I can't buy it. Otherwise I may have to look into getting a projector.

I don't want to go Plasma for two reasons:

1. The military will not move plasmas. I would have to pay to get it shipped to my next duty location. Something about how easy it is to damage it during the move.

2. I would have to purchase a special unit for it to be compatible with my TV Stand mount.

The Pioneer PDP-5020FD from Amazon for around $1900 would be my first choice also if my budget was a maximum of $2,000.

It's a nice display too. But from that same review, "The LN52A650 is nearly identical to the 750, except that it has no DLNA capabilities, internal content, or integrated woofer, and WiseLink can play only photos and music (no video) from a USB storage device."

There's no CC within a 400 miles radius of me. Otherwise believe me, I'd be there.
