Hi Everyone...
I was wondering what your opinions were for best sub under $2000. I have klipsch RF62, and RC62 fronts/center and backs. I have an older cheaper paradigm sub which i'd like to replace with something better... what y'all think?? :-) Jeffy |

Best sub under $2000, well if space is not a problem I suggest the SVS PB13-Ultra...
![]() You can get it in a variety of finishes and many from AVS are in love with it. It would definitely be my pick if I was in need of a new sub. Last edited by Downhere; 12-01-2007 at 04:19 AM. |

Since you already have Klipsh, I'd also recommend the Klipsch RT-12D, which has fantastic out put, is not as dependent on room placement as most subs, and has a fantastic auto-EQ on top of it.
http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rt-12d.aspx Also, if you need an inwall sub that sdtill rocks your house their KA-1000-THX and amplifier are an awesome combo. The MSRP for the former is right around $2k, and I forget the latter, but both can be pickedup for under $2000 with from a good authorized dealer, or for less from audiogon or a similar outlet. Good luck! |

SVS PB 13-Ultra is the clear choice. For the money nothing can touch it. I have had several SVS subs, and they outperform other manufacturers costing 3X as much. I compared JBL, Klipsch, and Velodyne subs and ended up with a PB 13-Ultra. Also, they are an excellent company to deal with. Customer service is some of the best I have ever experienced.

I own a Definitive Technology Supercube Reference so, of course I will suggest for you to try it! I would post a pic, but their site is not coming up right now
![]() The main driver is 14" with two 14" passive radiators and a 1,800 watt class D amp and blends in very nice to your furniture, available in cherry of piano black. It weighs in at $1600. Amazing subwoofer. My gain is not even turned up more than a quarter of the way. Crisp, clean, and smooth. I have definitely never complained about my bass. Oh, and it goes to 11hz Edit: the site came up so, here is the pic: ![]() and the link for specs: http://www.definitivetech.com/loudsp...ubwoofers.html Last edited by DefTechPioElite; 12-08-2007 at 05:03 PM. I'm grabbing the Servo-15 soon. Might be pushing your budget a bit (maybe $2200+tx from a reasonable shop unless it has come down in price since I last looked), but I'm already ~$5k over mine (doh!) so.. /shrug
Sticking with Paradigm, I think the step down would be the Seismic-12 which should be within your budget. |

After reviewing quite a few subs ranging from $500 to $1500, I ended up buying the Martin Logan Dynamo at around $600. I have been thoroughly happy with the performance of this little compact sub...plus my wife didn't get too upset with the purchase.

If you aren't on a budget definitely get the JL audio. I had one in a car a few years back and they are insane! However, If you want to save a grand try one of these from HSU Research. I have this in my theater and am quite happy with it. It simulates an earthquake with no problems. ![]() ![]() Last edited by krinkle; 12-09-2007 at 03:28 AM. |
