I've had Madden 08 for 2 days now and i just can't seem to get into it.

im still on the fence as to getting it or not. does it play the same as all pro 2k8? if so; screw madden...i will wait til next year.

Yeah-- I've had it for 2 days, and it has SO much potential.. but alot of things really kill it for me. They should have never abandoned the old style.. because I'll easily play last-gen over the PS3 madden.

The game will be returned tomorrow.

Why is everyone so surprised that Madden '08 is rehashed garbage? It's the same recycled game every single year, and has been since its introduction, with a few added polygons and a bunch of bells and whistles that no one cares about.

Exactly. It's FOOTBALL. It's not like they change the game every year

You're paying $60 for what amounts to a stat file, and some new names on jerseys. At least with a wrestling game you have new characters that wrestle totally differently, and a story mode

The only thing matters to me in Madden is the franchise mode. Can you start a new franchise with a fantasy draft on this years version?

Some people cant stand change...

the new Hitstick it great and the AI is much improved...

I bet yall gave up cus you lost on you first try...

If you love the NFL you will love this game...

There is a hall of fame mode with highlights and videos...

Yall guys probably got punked by football players in high school!

Well Im just venting because you guys bash the game yet give no reasons...

i feel in love with 08 the first second i played it, i totally love this game

i got the 360 version, so there might be a difference with the whole fps

but i love the gameplay, its so realistic and fun, much improved over 07, which was a piece of crap

the new stick and highlight stick are great and the online play is solid

definitely one of the best sports games ever made

I lost interest in Madden after playing Sega's ESPN football. 2k5 was the last one I think, and I remember it was 20 bucks to compete with Madden. It was a much better game, then EA got the rights to the NFL for the next billion years and I lost all interest in these games.

nfl 2k5 was the greatest football game of all time, i still have my version on ps2

but now its gone because the heads of ea are evil!! they brought out every football license, including the european and canadian licensees

but u just have to live with it and be happy with what you got

madden 08 is the first true great football game since 2k5 and im happy because football games are back

it`s madden ,based on the name it will sell ,john madden`s ass could go "boom" and leave a stain on the wall and look out madden 09 with stain feature lol....bottom line people who buy madden will continue to buy it even if you don`t next year someone will be like omg u have to play it there`s a new tuff actin tinactin mode and yeah you`ll buy it ,lol
ahh i remember when gameday outsold madden one year believe it was 98 or 99 when jerome bettis was on the cover
ahhh competition is a beautiful thing
sorry about the rant I love the games but somebody wil always love them or hate them for some reason,lol

guys,

i didn't like the game at first because it was different than 07, but then realized it is actually alot better. different techniques, harder passes, it is alot harder to score a touchdown, and that makes the game more interesting because of the competition.

i say give it a chance, and do practice first before actually playing online.

...anyone notice that X-Play shut PS3 COMPLETELY out of their review for this game? They didn't even bother (or at least as far as I watched, which was like 3/4 through their hr-long "sports" special last night) ! they reviewed PS2, Wii (both got "meh's") and 360 (missed that one - the way they hyped it, they obviously were focusing on the 360). I've heard them accused of M$ bias before, but geez, this was blatant.

Eh, that's X-play.

The company which called the storyline of Enchanted Arms excellent on 360 and stupid on the PS3, when it's the same exact storyline.

But they are just showing what their fans want to hear, the 360 almost swept the G-phoria awards so its pretty obvious that the 360 makes up the majority of their viewership.
