I've been kind of obsessed with this film for many years, and was disappointed that I couldn't find a thread about it with, so here!

OK...The trailer could use some work, but that's moot.

The film is above standard, at least.

Great flick, love the scene where Miles tries to retrieve Jack's missing wallet from the home of the hefty waitress .

I haaaated this film. From memory the two main characters were so thoroughly unlikeable I just wanted it to be over so they weren't on my mind anymore.

This isn’t the kind of film I would think I would enjoy... until I actually watch it. It’s one of those films that I can’t turn off once it’s already on. It has great dialogue from an excellent script, memorable characters (who you aren’t necessarily supposed to love), and fantastic performances. It tells a great story that’s very simple, personal, and relatable, and there’s so many scenes that I remember very frequently. I’m glad it’s going down as something of a classic.

Same. Detested. I remember having to pee in the middle of it and wishing I could walk out.

I remember seeing it on a date with a guy who chose it and he loved it. Right there, I realized we had completely different taste and it wasn't to be.

I think I watched this when it came out, but I'm looking for the bluray now. I added to my Amazon cart, so hopefully I'll be watching it shortly...

One of my top ten favourite movies of all time. I even bought a back-up copy of the (UK) blu-ray just in case Foxney go all crazy and start letting their titles go OOP. Better safe than sorry

You know, I don't think it was ever made widely known, but I discovered back in the day that the DVD release includes a hidden mockumentary about studio executives/producers visiting the set and finding out that the production was out of control due to excessive alcohol consumption. I've never seen this referenced anywhere (though not many people really talk about the movie). Nor do I think it's a proper easter egg. I think it was supposed to be a DVD extra but they dropped it and removed the link from the menus. But if you put the DVD in your PC drive, you can play this VOB file.

Sideways is an amazing film. I saw it theatrically back in 2004, on opening day. It first hit a small arthouse theater, and then went wide later (at least in my area). Really good road trip/buddy film, with some interesting "twists" - ha ha.

The Blu was fantastic; great print.

A wise decision. Between this film’s continued popularity and Disney’s letting it go out of print on physical media you’d be hard pressed to find a copy at a reasonable price these days.

Started to panic looking at eBay listings but was delighted to realize I already own the blu-ray via the Fox Searchlight 20th anniversary set.
