Default Question about a cable?

My tv has an input for an YPbPr cable and my BD player has an output for it along with other electronics I own. I have always wondered does this cable deliver HD quality? What can you output with it? 720p? I use HDMI, but I would just like to know because I think I will eventually use it for something. Thanks.

This is the cord I'm talking about by the way:

Hello

Yes; generally it will output 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i.

While component is capable of transmitting 1080p, most manufacturers do not support it, leaving support for 1080p to HDMI; however there are exceptions.

After all, copyright protection is the primary reason for HDMI.

Thank You
