Default HD Cable question!!

Ok this my sound dumb but hear me out.. My hd cable lately has started to have like a scaling/pixelating affect and some fuzziness to it that it never had before.. It used to have a good pic that also was crystal clear..My blu ray is great no problem there. Has anyone else experinced this? and if so is it normal?

is it tiling/breaking up in squares or getting fuzzy? and is the audio going in and out at the same time? like a scratched dvd?

you may need a signal booster or it could be loose wire somewhere. I would call your cable company tell them the issue and have them check your lines.

just sounds like regular compression artifacts to me. my cable used to be great too. got talking to one of the higher level service techs at cox and he told me that compression is always being increased....it's a bummer

I have Verizon Fios and Hd picture is one of the best I have seen. My problem is a lot of shows like 20/20 on ABC and David Letterman on CBS. My receiver says it is playing in Dolby 5.1 but there is no sound from center speaker. The voice is playing from the Front left and right. Does anyone else have this problem.

Are you sure it is DD 5.1? A lot of HD broadcasts are DD, but only presented in 2.1. Meaning fronts and sub only.

It is strange. On my receiver I have a display button and when I press it it says Dolby D 5.1 and it says I am using Dolby D EX as my sound field. I am watching The Cbs 11:00pm news in HD now and it says Dolby D 5.1 but if I go to the non HD Channel for CBS and hit display it says Dolby 2.0.
