Default What's the real reason for Blu-ray monster success in other countries?

Is it because they hate the american product Microsoft? I know Microsoft get's no love in Japan..........

Well in Australia Hd-dvd is nonexistent, one of our biggest retailers for entertainment which is Jb hi-fi only supports blu-ray. We also have other business' like target, Big-w, myers, and ezy-dvd which seems to be the only store that sells hd-dvd titles (they also stock blu-ray's).

I've yet to see any hd-dvd players being sold.

Yesterday also i noticed that the blu-ray range of movies are growing, which is great news for me and other blu-ray supporters.

I guess you can say Australians are Tru-Blu

Toshiba don't promote HD-DVD in Denmark. All promoting is done by the shops themselves. Same goes for Blu-ray. only promotion is a blu-ray/hd-dvd logo on posters. I would say PS3 is the reason.

Because Toshiba had limited time/money and support, and concentrated all their promotion here, in the most important market

Worldwide sales will heavily favor Blu-Ray now and increase later in the future and will push HD-DVD to Divx status.

The same goes for Greece too, however Sony Pictures provide us with every new title that launches in other bigger european markets...........it's hard to find hd-dvd supporters in Greece........

thanks blu-ray.....

Also... i was thought never talk bad things about others or your competitors and besides Toshiba builts great quality products worldwide lets be real and honest its just theres so many others that makes them better and have a much better format that its just very difficult for them to surpass them all and at the end they'll be making Blu ray players as well and we gotta support their products

Education. I have first hand experience with the German and French markets and those who are seriously interested in the Hi-Def trend clearly know what are the pros and cons of the two rivals. Especially in Germany fans are very, very well informed!!

More folks, more. This is music to my ears.

I just got Infernal Affairs from Hong Kong, and Bruce Almighty (BVHE) from the UK. Importing is cool.
