so you can get tickets before they sell out. it's not for the early show. if you don't get early for some movies you won't be able to get any at all. back when fight the future came out, which was before online ticket buying, the only tickets i could get opening day were for the 11:15 pm showing. and batman routinely would sell out their entire shows for the day in about 15 minutes.

I see, probably for the big cities? I could see this happening in Toronto I guess. But then again I never go to theater on the Friday release, I usualy go the Saturday afternoon. It's possible it's the same thing here, just never notice.

i would have to disagree as well, this movie was all over the place... brett ratner should stick with rush hour

not just for big cities. this happens all over. and on saturdays too. the dark knight was bigger at the box office, but batman was sold out for many, many weeks.

oK..it is time for some polls . I am sure JasonB will do the boxoffice poll (Wolverine is a clear winner) However, we still need: "How much will Wolverine make in its theatrical run?", and a "Do you plan to see the movie on opening weekend?" polls. Come on people, lets start the Summer movie season on the right foot. The movie might stink (not saying it will or wont ) but we need more enthusiasm.

I know I for one am pumped. I only go to theaters for big over the top movies and this is the first one of the season for me. Recent months have not been kind to me as I was severely disappointed on my last two trips to the theater. Watchmen and Quantum of Solace burned me bad, and I am anxious to say again that when I went to the theater the film earned my money instead of slipped my wallet a $10 mickey in the same unforgiving fashion as those two films did.

I'm ready to watch Wolvie cut up some baddies!!! Perhaps pull a helicopter out of the air too!

Please Hollywood, give me something besides enviro-villains and a film based on a great graphic novel with bad acting. PLEASE!!!!

You can get in line tonight starting at 9pm and they are giving 500 tickets away in the morning at 9am Saturday. You can start lining up for the red carpet at 5:30 am Monday. Festivities are scheduled to start at 5:30pm. Papa Johns is going to give free Pizza at lunchtime.

When they sent out the announcement email they said that they were going to show Hugh Jackman live at noon that next day and the people who showed up would get a chance at 100 tickets. After they filled the 500 seat Capri, they told the crowd everyone would be getting a ticket. When I found out, I was pissed because I showed up an hour early and didn't think I'd have a chance looking at the long line. Wish I would've stayed though. That was cool of Harkins. They are going to show it on all their screens at the same time (2500 seats total)

There's reports that different Wolverine prints will have different Easter Eggs in them. Maybe to try and get the fans to see it a few times at different Multi-plexes?

Quote:
I just stepped out of a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the Fox lot in Los Angeles and before it started, director Gavin Hood stopped by to introduce the film. He spent most of the time thanking us for coming to this screening and seeing Wolverine the way it should be seen, in theaters, and talked about how many difference there were between the final cut and the early leaked version. He then mentioned that Marvel has a tradition of hiding easter eggs in their films, and it's no exception for Wolverine. They've hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions.

Fox is a bit desperate to try and get people in theaters on May 1st for the opening and this definitely seems like a very unique decision to try and bring people in. While we've seen plenty of easter egg endings, like in Iron Man last year, we haven't seen multiple endings like this in a long time. Hood didn't say how many different endings there would be. As for the other differences between the leaked version and the final cut, Hood explained that there were 400 unfinished visual effects shots and that there was no score, unfinished sound mixing, and unfinished coloring. However, he didn't mention anything about differences in footage.

I will say, quickly, that I enjoyed Wolverine and wouldn't call it great, but liked it a lot more than I was expecting. I think my expectations had been brought down considerably because of all the negative buzz from the leak. However, seeing a finished and polished version was what made all the difference (I never saw the leaked version anyway). As for the secret ending we saw tonight, I'll only say that it featured Deadpool, and the only other thing I'll mention, is that he may still be around. We'll let you know when we hear any more about the secret endings in Wolverine, including how many there are and what they are.

Because movies with hype, especially ones with core audiences comprised of geeks, tend to get IMAX releases these days.

That doesn't sound like the sort of thing movie-Wolverine would say...

I'm gonna vote "no".

Other than the leaked one and one showing off Deadpool, what other teaser endings could there be? Maybe a hint to the First Class film in development? Could that have been why they included Cyclops in the film at all, so they could attempt to tie the First Class film in production directly to this one? The only other X-men spin-off they're working on wouldn't make any sense to try to tease: how're you gonna tease a period piece about Magneto off this film?

ps despite my initial plans to not even see this in theatre, I'm now up to 9 free offers for tickets lol

Although I will be at the event (I am a publicist), I am very disappointed with how they handled giving out passes for the screening. Having people at Tempe Marketplace in this hot weather is cruel. There had to be a better way to do it. The movie will play in all 16 Tempe Marketplace theatres on Monday with red carpet arrivals at 5:00 pm. Movie will start at 7.

As much info I can give out about the premiere.

Maybe it ties in with X-men in some other way. They've lied before though (about running times and differences, so... )
