LOL not going to comment on the wife thing but I'd go for the Bravia myself. Always a safe brand to acquire and will be a joy to use for many years to come.

Either one would be a great TV, and both are really similar in a lot of respects. I think it is up to you what you think personally, go with the one that won't give you buyers remorse. The Samsung is a really good TV too, but if you prefer Sony then by all means, it would be an awesome TV.

For that money I would recommend getting a front projector for the same price.

Thanks for the input. Keep them coming.

Regarding the projector, there's no spot to put it in our place right now.

There have been numerous threads comparing Samsung's to Sony's, especially with the Samsung 650/750/850 series. I have owned both recently and both are great LCD's. I attached one of the more recent threads of members opinions between the 2 below, but ultimately, I recommend you going to see both TV's in person, (perhaps you could even get to see both together to do a real comparison). Only your eyes will really be able to tell what looks good to you. Both TV's in regards as an LCD TV are excellent and it is pretty much up to the eye of the beholder if you ask me. Try this thread for starters, and then use the search for additional info if needed. I hope this offer some assistance....

Good luck!

Its all in the eyes...pick what you like but def dont stray away from a Sammy or a Sony. I have both and I like my Sony better but to each his own.

first off i'd like to thank everyone who posted and put in their 10 cents.

i'll go ahead and get the XBR6

i see now that both are really great tv, but since the TV will be set in a very bright room during the day sammy glossy finish will just creat a glare front left and center. Also, i like watching movies over sports so the matted sonny screen would set a good mood for watching movies.

again thanks everyone for setting my priority striaght.

Go with Sony. More reliable and their customer service is top notch.
