IVANHOE!!!!

In addition to National Velvet, the Warner Archive is giving Elizabeth Taylor fans another Technicolor Christmas treat with Ivanhoe! Thank you, Mr. Feltenstein, and everyone at WAC! This should look absolutely gorgeous.

I'm sure you must have the recently remastered Intrada CD of the score. it's a distinct improvement over the much older CD release.

Finally! One of the most lavish and beautifully photographed Technicolor epics. This blu should be an enormous upgrade to say the least.

oh I do, I've been a rozsa enthusiast since I heard a few decades ago his passionate music for the private life of sherlock holmes. Then I heard Ben-Hur and thought that God had another son named Miklos. For the longest time I was obsessed with rozsa, Im still obviously a bit since the first thing I thought when I read this thread was "oh my god, ivanhoe, the fantastic rozsa picture with some actors and technicolor and stuff". Those of us who collect film scores always tend to think first of the music and then the rest of the movie.

I dont have much of a recollection about the movie since the last time I watched it I only paid attention to rozsa's score, I was completely mesmerized by the music, but like I said, im not as obsessed now so I'll pay attention to other things

USA At Last!

Been waiting for this one for a while. I'd love the 1950 version of "King Solomon's Mines" with Deborah Kerr for Blu-ray next. The Good Earth and "7 Women" would be nice to.

Great news. Btw, what is the rest of your top 5? Always curious to know what people wish for.

My top 5 would be:

1. Alfred Hitchcock presents/Amazing Stories
2. Betrayal (1983)
3. Fort Apache The Bronx
4. Whose Life is it Anyway? (1981)
5. Will Penny/Number One/Skyjacked - 3 Charlton Heston films

Honorable mentions: Soldier of Orange, Sleuth, Ryans Daughter, Five days one Summer, Wilson, Tom Horn, Looking for Mr Goodbar and the list goes on.

Fort Apache is long overdue for a Blu Ray release. Along with another Newman movie Nobody’s Fool

So excited about this release! Seems like WB is mining their fabulous historical/adventure catalogue at long last.
Based on this blessed event, my top 5 would be:
1. Helen of Troy
2. Land of the Pharaohs
3. Scaramouche
4. The Silver Chalice
5. The Prodigal
Also would enjoy Knights of the Round Table and Julius Caesar if possible.
Guess I'm the true epitome of genre driven, but must thank WB for this precious gift of Ivanhoe!

OMG YESSS!!! I can't remember how often I watched this as a kid!

Another one I dearly miss is The Three Musketeers with Gene Kelly.
By far my favourite version.
Pretty Please Warner Archive!!!

$17.99!

I learned my lesson from Bugsy as I pre-ordered at $21.99. Cancelled the previous order and re-ordered at $17.99 and took a screenshot and sent it to myself on email.

Thank you Amazon for teaching me this lesson that I need evidence on pre-orders when the price goes down. I hate Amazon...I love Amazon it's a love/hate relationship

I pre-ordered at $21.99, price came down to $13.99 and my Amazon account reflected the new lowered price.

Then the price went back up, they increased the price in my account and would not honor the lower price

Since I had no screenshot I had not a leg to stand on

With all Amazon pre-orders if you see the price go down I suggest cancelling your previous order and reorder at the lower price and take a screenshot or print out the order info so when Amazon tries to F*uck you you'll at least have some evidence.

Again thank you Amazon for the lesson and the extra work I now have to do because I no longer trust your pre-order guarantee it's worthless.

I also took a screenshot of Angels With Dirty Faces.
