Default Has Will Ferrel lost his funny?

I know I like to ***** about certain actors, but this is different because Will Ferrel is funny. He was the funniest part of Saturday Night Live and Old School. Im sure nobody will argue he wasnt funny in Anchorman and Zoolander.(One of my favorites)

So im watching ad for "Land of the Lost" and it loods awful. I know Will Ferrel is sometimes hard to get, or his charicters get old easy, but I was looking forward to this. I know hes had some awful movies in hes career-hey who hasnt, but this REALLY looks bad.

So is it Wills fault if this movie tanks, or was it doomed from the start?

Both, he chose to do this piece of s**t. He is a funny man but he needs the material.

I don't think he's "lost his funny". I blame it on the movie probably being bad more than anything. Their first mistake was making it a comedy.

I think the real question is "Was he ever funny?"

Sorry don't like Will or any of his movies and have never found anything he's done to be funny. Maybe I'm too old at 27. Seems like his target audience is 12 - 14 year olds.

Don't mean any offence here, just stating my opinion. If you like him, there's at least a wealth of material out there for you.

He was basically the Dan Aykroyd of his own SNL:
A funny trouper as the "straight" deadpan-funny character in the sketches, inscrutably and bafflingly unfunny as his own overbearing solo act.

Like Aykroyd (and similarly unfunny Kevin Nealon and Chris Kataan) he's personable enough to be a funny character actor in other people's movies--qv. "The Producers"--just if we can get him away from his OWN long enough to do one.

Never really thought that Will was very funny....especially when he is the main character, If he has a good supporting cast like old school then I can stand they guy b/c he doesnt have to try to be funny he just acts....when he is the main character I think he over does it and trys way to hard to be funny....I myself Have pretty much given up watching his films!

Having been a child of the 80's I think a small part of me died inside when reading that the great Dan Aykroyd is being compaired to Will Ferrel.

I don't really care for Will Ferrel's movies. Atleast not the ones he's the Star in. Co-star or Supporting Actor he's great. Night at the Roxberry and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back he was great in. Then again he was pretty good in Stranger Than Fiction...

Yes, Will Ferrel has lost what little funny he ever had. But then again all comedies lose it after a while because the same old routine starts to get stale.

Being a child of the 80's also, I can see how Ferrel would be compared to Aykroyd. Neither of them are a John Belushi. Unfortunately it was Belushi's untimely death that he will always be remembered as a great comedian. Guess when you're a celebrity it really is "better to burn out then fade away."

(I'm also a child of the 80's, and "Dan Aykroyd" to me means "1941", "Nothing But Trouble", and "Doctor Detroit"...
Some SNL's should just never have been let off their leash. Or make movies without John Belushi/Bill Murray. )

Ferrell was funny imitating James Lipton, and he was funny imitating Alex Trebek.

And if he ever does a movie about James Lipton or Alex Trebek, I'm there.
If he does yet another arrogant star-niche Legend-in-his-own-mind doofus, however, seen-it-rented-it-ignored-the-basketball-movie.
