Yes. Any Blu-rays from US, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan are the same region and will work without issue.

I'll be happy when I can see a comparison between the US DVD and the Alliance BD to make sure nothing was cropped / unmatted / who knows. Crazy Alliance and all their crazy releases...

There's now a 1-2 month wait on Amazon.ca. Makes me think they weren't expecting the rush of U.S. orders. Might be a good sign for a future U.S. release...

Weird, I just bought the DVD and it is written that aspect ration is 2.35:1 but when I play it, 1.85:1...

Yeah, the US DVD is misprinted as 2.35:1 widescreeen.

It was funny.but the ending is kind of a downer. And is out of place in such a hillarious movie.

sorry to necrobump, but I see this as pre-order on amazon.ca, anybody know whether its the old one with the wrong AR or are they releasing a correct one this time ?

The BD is in the correct aspect ratio...always has been.

In fact, the US and Canadian DVDs are also in the same aspect ratio. The Weinstein Company opens up 1.85:1 very slightly to 1.78:1 since overscan on most televisions corrects for it. Alliance is simply using the same masters.

ah sorry, Im confusing this with the Germany release which was 1.77 but have extras while this one seems to be a barebone ...

so I revise the question, is this a new version with extra or still the same barebone release

Unknown. We have yet to see a 2-disc No Country for Old Men & extras filled disc of Requiem for a Dream from Alliance yet. It may just be them setting a new pricepoint, or a cover art change. Who knows.
