Anyone else get their Gladiator BD pre-order cancelled from Amazon?

Here's my e-mail from Amazon: Hello from Amazon.com,

Unfortunately, we don't have any more stock of Gladiator [Blu-ray] right now, and we're not sure when we'll be able to get more.

Our supply of some items is limited, and these products sell out quickly. I realize this is disappointing news.

I'd suggest checking our website from time to time to see if this item is available. If anyone is selling it, you'll see a "More Buying Choices" box on the product detail page; if it's not available from any sellers, you might see an "Order it used" or "Alert me" link. "Order it used" allows you to place a pre-order for the item in case another seller lists the item for sale later. "Alert me" allows you to sign up so we can e-mail you when Amazon has stock available for purchase.

I'm sorry I don't have better news. We hope to see you again soon.

Since when was Gladiator even available as a pre-order? It was never officially announced.

I don't see that there's much to be upset about, really. It was never announced, so pre-ordering was kind of a crapshoot, anyway, don't ya think?

It's likely coming out in September, so a real pre-order option and full press release should be made shortly.

Not when they gave me a shipping date when I ordered. I have Braveheart listed to ship Sept. 8

Um, everything on the link you provided has been officially announced, with dates and pricing. Gladiator was never announced or given a date. Why Amazon had a pre-order up is anyone's guess.

Well I just thought Amazon had it listed at such a date so, that must be the release date.

I guess I just put my faith in a company that's worth nearly 100 million in that, when they say something is going to be out on such a day I put stock into it. At least more so than a niche Blu-ray website. I'm getting one or two day shipping with my order from Amazon(Jackie Brown & Pulp Fiction)
