In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the “Lost Master Arc.” Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary with the announcement of two new KINGDOM HEARTS titles,” said KINGDOM HEARTS series Brand Manager, Ichiro Hazama. “We’d like to thank the fans for all of their support over the years, and we can’t wait for them to experience all that’s to come for Sora.”

I haven't had a chance to play KH3 yet but the switch to the ultra realistic type of graphics a la FF7 Remake is a bit jarring imo.

It seems like they intend to connect it as a direct sequel, so i just don't know how the switch to ultra realism came about.

Also, KH has crossed over with actual live-action Disney properties in the past, and it's also looked pretty realistic back then. Like, this is what the Pirates of the Caribbean world looked like in KH3:

the graphics looks pretty cool imo

but I've yet to play 3/RM, I keep hearing mixed feelings about it. maybe I'll check it out one day

That looks far more intriguing than anything from the Xehanort Saga since BBS imo. And I love the art style; hated how action figure-y everyone looked in KH3 lol. Can't wait

Thanks for sharing. I do need to play the game but i guess there's a precedent set if that's already been done.

Looks great, can’t wait to check it out when it releases. I skipped KH3 because honestly I was burnt out on the series already having played/owned every previous entry, some like part 2 I played multiple times. This one looks like a breath of fresh air the series needed IMO.

Looks all CG, and fake. Like that doesn't look like gameplay it looks like target render footage. See ya in several years. FF16 was announced nearly two years ago and still probably won't release for another year. I can't imagine KH4 is breaking that trend.

It’s already confirmed that the whole thing was real-time.

Very little “interaction” from the player & what is, is mostly “on-rails”

That said, graphics should be better on UE5.

As long as Nomura doesn't end up directing another major project at the same time, say Final Fantasy XV-2 (unlikely yeah, but who knows

) then getting fired halfway through, we should hope for some consistency.

They need to stop making healing magic cost all remaining MP; hated that about 2, and facepalmed upon hearing that kept that nonsense for 3.

I have yet to play the 3rd one and I was disappointed by the lack of different worlds especially considering what games systems are able to do now.

I really truly hope we get a new Kingdom Hearts IV trailer at Summer Game Fest.

If not then, there's always Tokyo Game Show, The Game Awards, or Jump Festa.

Also the mobile spinoff game Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link has sadly been canceled.
