I have a buddy who loves his Rogue amps very much. I also value his opinion very much. So I know Their stuff is gonna sound great.

Yeah.. maybe mdabb, myself and others should start an integrated amp thread with our thoughts and impressions after auditioning such gear. Mdabb?

I think that's a great idea.......Integrated amps definately serve a purpose and although sometimes shunned by the audio purists, they deliver excellent value and are a worthwhile consideration for many.

John
I own one and used it from the late 70s to the mid 90s- The Accuphase E202. It was a real gem and the best made and sounding integrated amp from the early to late 70s; it was also expensive by the days standards.

Sounds good to me !!!

I know people would be blown away by the SQ of dedicated two channel gear and especially now that "home theater by-pass circuits" are being put into pre-amps and integrateds. It makes it possible to truly have lovely stereo playback and a home theater setup in the same rig. AVR's just have too much going on to compete when it comes to heavenly stereo playback.

I've been out of the separates game for about 12 years (had a bigger budget during my single days ), but I'm slowly inching my way back. I'll be adding a dedicated 2-channel in my loft hopefully by the end of the year. Magnepan 1.6 with the xover mod or 3.6 for sure (almost bought some 1.6's a few weeks back but I held off). I'm not sure yet about the preamp/amp, though.

With Maggies you'll need an amp that can deliver planty of current.

Of course . But would you believe the shop where I went to audition them was driving the 1.6s with a Pioneer 94TXH AVR? Nothing against the Pioneer, but I wasn't impressed with what I heard at first until I got a separate amp hooked up to them.

Not having a budget is awesome, but it certainly is possible to get great stereo sound without suffering !!! I'm sure whatever you put together will sound great !!! I know I would search out a stereo setup irregardless of money and will get shot for saying so, but stereo is better than surround sound any day of the week !!!
