Predator 2 has amazing PQ considering it is a 20 year old movie - Blu-ray Forum

just watched this with the girlfriend and i must say we both were astounded how good the PQ is on this movie. It is a 20 year old movie and i must give props to FOX for this one.

I dunno if I would say it looks amazing but it looks better than Predator. It's solid but not spectacular.

Yes!! Thank you for the thumbs up go ahead for this movie. I was worried. I personally love this movie and think it is just as good as the first one. Will be getting it soon.

Yes I went a head and bought it, and the PQ is fantastic. MUCH better than P1. And ya know I watched this movie for the first time in a long time, and never understood why it recieved such negative reactions. Its not as good as P1, but its fun as hell to watch.

Well parts such as when Glovers character manages to sucesfully tackle a Predator come to mind (condiering when Dutch swings a large log at him it just splinters on the predator and the predator doesn't flintch when getting hit, yet in Predator 2 a man much smaller tackeling you nocks you over instantly). *shudders. Not a terrible movie on its own (average in my opinion), but a terrible sequal.

The Picture quality of the blu is very good (not reference), but especially compared to the dvd the increase in quality is extremely significant. Sadly it didn't improve the film for me. (I also may note that I liked the extremely grainy picture in Predator and am glad that it wasn't dnred heavily).

Personally, i liked the first movie better. I got it on blu-ray at a price drop, so i will be waiting for the same thing with this one.

I have the region B UK edition, and if the US region A release is anywhere near this in picture quality it looks amazing. Nice to see "old" catalogue titles in this quality.

Now let's just hope they go back and give us propper releases of Predator and the director's cut of Commando as well.

Yeah I have the UK edition as well but I haven't opened it yet. If the US version is better, I'd much rather pick that one up and get rid of the UK one

I agree this one looks and sounds fantastic! even better looking than the first one.

have not seen all the extra's but I think there are a few new HD extra's I think? and I saw a few from the DVD they put out a few years back.

I have the Spain edition, But the audio is not DTS-HD Master (although it says on the packaging). So, I got it on at a heavy price drop.

The U.S. and U.K. version of Predator use the SAME encode. Fox used the exact same copy for the U.S. as the U.K. version just like they did with commando and predator

Just finished watching this and it looked amazing. Like DarkKnight said earlier this movie was not bad at all. I know Arnold was a hard act to follow from the first one but Danny Glover was the man in this one. That scene with the Jamacians getting sliced up in that hotel room was brutal.
