Just bought movie with no disc inside!!! - Blu-ray Forum

Hello everyone, I bought Dr. Strangelove from Best Buy yesterday, but when I opened the case, to my surprise, the disc was missing.

I didn't know that purchasing movies was like a raffle nowadays. Must be the economy.

Anyway, where should I seek a solution, Best Buy or the manufacturer?

Best Buy 1st, Manufacturer 2nd.

with a receipt they will most likely let you exchange it for another copy

they generally try to give customers the benefit of the doubt so hopefully they won't have a huge problem with it...this stuff does happen every now and then and they know that.

I don't see why this required creating a thread? You've got a brain, you must have had things go bad before at some point in your life. Take it back to the store.

I couldn't believe it myself. I searched all over the house, even though I hadn't left the living room. I figured ants might like dark comedies.

he's just asking for advice....plus if someone else ever encounters this problem and the OP posts the resolution, it may help others out as well

This has happened to me several times over the years with DVDs. Each time, I had no problem taking it back to the store and exchanging it for another copy. Just make sure you have the receipt, and you should be fine.

I bought The Incredible Hulk at Walmart, and it had a blank Verbatim DVD-R instead of the Blu-ray. They didn't hesitate to make it right.

+1, this problem could of occurred with other "Dr. Strangelove" copies.

Strangest thing I ever got: In my Star Trek original movie collection set, the case for Wrath of Khan had two discs of the movie.

I bought the 2-disc special editon DVD of Near Dark about a year ago, but instead of Near Dark, disc 2 was disc 1 of some stupid TV show. It was obviously a manufacturing error, as the case was new and sealed. I showed them and they were blown away. They were very quick to exchange it, but a missing disc is something else. Then again, they might believe it was missing because what the hell need would the average consumer need with two copies of the same movie?

Best Buy should change it right away.
I work in retail, and I would def exchange it for you.
And then I would turn around and tell all my employees you're a thief, lol.

Not the same but simular. I bought a BD of Rambo III. It was factory sealed. To my suprise it was Rambo II. As it was bought Ebay, well.
