Nothing wrong with a $20 limit. I do think the people that keep pushing a $10 limit are a little crazy

I'm more at about a $17-$18 limit. I'm more comfortable at $15.

$20 is usually my limit too. If it's a movie I'm real excited about I'll go as high as $24.99

I absolutely refuse to pay $29.99 for a single movie. That is an absurd price and it's simply not worth that much.

I thought prices were supposed to get better as the format war ended and more people adopted Blu-ray. Sure you can find good deals, but as far as regular prices on release day go, I think it's gotten a little worse.

We probably won't see Blu-ray movies at dvd price level until either A. Dvd phases out, B. almost every household has a Blu-ray player, C. this economy gets better, or D. all of the above. Sure there are Blu-rays under $15 and even ones as low as $10 but of course if you found the dvd version it will probably be more like $3.99

HAHAHAHAHA.
I agree with the OP though, I just don't spend over $20 anymore. I have found myself to have become really patient with blu-ray releases now and just wait for a good sale or price drop.

I stay away from anything over $20. 75% of what I purchase is under $15. I wait until what I want is available at my price. Exceptions to this rule have been the Indy 4 movie ($21.95) when it first came out and a few others. I have stopped blind buys also. I've been disappointed too many times based on reviews. My last BD purchase was 2001 ($11.49) and The Sand Pebbles ($11.99).

I try to stay at a $20 limit but I'll make exceptions. I want the Best Buy exclusive of Watchmen and I know there's no way it'll be close to my $20 limit but it's a must have for me so I'll gladly pay for that exclusive. Also for foreign releases. I don't mind, at all, spending $30-$35 for movies like Ip Man, Red Cliff 1 & 2 and Flash Point. Simply because they'll never see the light of day getting released here in the states and I'm also limited in who I can order these movies from.

I won't buy anything that isn't at least 48% off MSRP.

I usually follow the $20 rule....plus tax.The only time I over-paid was when my daughter was having some friends stay over one night and I paid $30 for Wall.e. Other than that, there are too many titles out there to spend big money on.

The most I've paid for a Blu-Ray was Saw V. It was $24.96 but came out to $26 even after tax.

I've been a Blu-ray adopter since January 2007, but I've never paid more than $25 for a Blu-ray movie, with the exception of box sets like the Die Hard series, Band of Brothers, etc.

Now, with over 350 Blu's in my collection, I try to keep purchases under $20 when possible, so I buy used or take advantage of coupons and such. With Blu-ray being fully established now, it's a lot easier (and smart) to be frugal.

I don't mind paying over $20 if it's a day-and-date new release. For catalog titles, $20 or less is my number.
