There have never been better festivals than those.

Mine arrived today funnily enough. Always like a rigid box release and the poster is a nice touch. It's great to see a film like this get this treatment.

My copy arrived yesterday. Amazingly well-packed. The poster is a very nice touch

Hoping to watch it this weekend.

Trevor Barley, who ran those Eurofests, sent me a letter one week after the (I think) 1994 fest. It was a photocopy of a picture from which a familiar face peered out, a stocky guy standing in a suit in the doorway of a lounge room with a friendly smile. Trevor scribbled in biro next to the picture, PAUL NASCHY ROUND MY FLAT. I was never able to attend any but I still have a festival brochure sitting on one of my bookshelves signed by Jess Franco, which Barley chucked in with one of my Media Publications orders.

There are really long videos of most of the Eurofests on a particular popular torrent site that I won't mention here.

the Code Red Blu-ray restores a missing scene that was on the Danish VHS and missing from the previous US DVD. Does this UK release also include this restored scene?

Satan’s Little Helper apparently. There's a thread for Treasured Films here.

If you tell me what the missing scene is and where it occurs I can check for you.

Thank you

The Dark Sky dvd was missing approximately 13 seconds in comparison to the Danish VHS releases from Polygram and Dansk Home Video at 1:08 in which the innkeeper serving wine or sake for some guests while an exotic dancer dances in the background. Also at roughly 35:00, the following dialogue is missing: "Morris: Careful there's been traffic through here.
Carlos: I'm Watchin' Man, i'm watchin!".
These times may be slightly different on the bluray compared to an old VHS of course. This was all reinstated on the Code Red bluray

Either this release or the Code Red one has messed up the colour grading big time from about 1:01:26.
On the code red release it looks like late daytime, but you can still see everything really clearly. Same with the version you can watch on YouTube.
But on this new Treasured Films release its very dark. Much darker than both the Code Red and YouTube versions.
And in the at 1:03:00 when the 3 soldiers are hiding out on the boat its extremely dark. Compare that to the code red screenshots on this website. Screenshots 16 and 17 down. I suspect this new release is correct as it seems like this scene takes place at dusk. But I do feel this new release is just a touch too dark throughout the whole film.

Having said this. I do also feel the version on YouTube and the Code Red version look overly brightened and slightly blown out at times. So I still prefer the look of this new bluray

I wonder how that will compare to the Vinegar Syndrome release.

If think this for this release wouldn't recommend getting House of the dragons season 1 4k. The night scenes are so dark in that one, couldn't see anything in daylight. Think they assume have a cinema quality dark room to watch it in.

Do you mean Satan's Little Helper? I know they're releasing that as it's already listed in the "coming soon" section on their website. Satan's Blood would be good too. It's one of the VS titles I never grabbed.

Picked this up in HMV today... been meaning to buy it direct and kept forgetting. Seeing it in the wild I just had to pick it up there and then.

This is a knockout set. Blows all other versions away, in terms of both A/V and extras. And what a great flick. Margheriti’s skill with miniatures makes this look much more expensive than it really was. That opening scene still packs an awesome punch. I only wish David Warbeck could have dubbed his own voice.

I’m still amazed that so many cult faves are getting full-blown special edition Blu-ray releases. I used to have to watch this on a pan&scan VHS. I never would have dreamed that the state of home video collecting would ever get so good.
