I hope this isn't as horrible as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which to this day is the only movie I've ever tried to walk out of (but didn't cause I went with 10 friends and I had no ride).

Anyway, I think the teaser looks good. It definitely has got Tim Burton's stamp all over it (that's not really a surprise) but after this I'm really getting interested in it.

Yeah, I learned that it was also based on a book, but even so, the Burton adaptation cites the earlier movie as a base, does it not?

Either way, I was mistaken in my example. I just thought it appropriate given the thread is about Burton to bring up a movie he did that legitimately was a remake.

For example, Burton's Planet of the Apes was a remake. His Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was not.

Anyway, some of the visual stylings look good here, but others seem awkward. Hopefully it plays well in the full feature, and hopefully they don't abuse the 3D side of things. I don't want to see them throwing things at the audience for no reason.

Yes I hands down agree, I hate watching animation films now in 2d as you can see where they have added something flinging out the screen pointlessly

I've seen the trailer, and I STILL haven't the faintest clue what the monster, the knight with the eye patch (Jabberwocky?), or the battle scenes have to do with anything remotely Carroll--
But I suspect we're actually going to get a "Return of Alice" story where Alice must now lead the forces to protect the White Queen in a battle to save the kingdom from the Evil Red Queen...

(And so, another Tim, quote-fingers, "Back to the book" project swirls indulgently down the toilet, to join Charlie Bucket and Col. Taylor. )
