I enjoyed it. Compared to Transformers, it's Casablanca. It's genuinely pretty neat and has an atmosphere of giddy fun. The finale goes on for a little too long, but otherwise, it's a perfectly fine summer popcorn film.

The chase in France is one of the best action sequences of the year, definitely. That's definitely going to be a demo scene on BD.

The chase was awesome. i like how sommers added this element to the movie. The element of the Mummy meets Van Helsing cinematography plus story telling wise.

I actually thought the movie sucked. I didnt think the movie stayed true to the 80s cartoon. Transformers was a much better movie. It felt and looked like a straight to DVD movie. Maybe my expectations was too high but I was expecting the movie to be comparable to Transformers.

I think it's to do with scale, Sommers lack that in most area, but makes it up with battle sequence. Despite it being cheesy most of the time. But at least you can actually see what's going on, unlike Michael Bay movie, where camera zooms in on the action and shake violently. (of course to set the tension, I get that)

I haven't see this movie yet, but have seen both Transformers, so for now I cannot compare.

But i'll see it for myself.

this is a bold statement especially after browsing your collection and seeing that you own 10,000b.c. AVP, Daredevil, The day after tomorrow, Fantastic 4... these are awful movies and there not even B movies, i would rate them C movies.

Guess I will like this movie, because I love those two

I even thought 10,000 B.C. was good fun.

Don't really need to criticize his collection just because he doesn't like a movie you liked. I don't think G.I. Joe is going to be a good movie, but I do expect to be entertained when I do end up seeing it. That is just fine.

I thought the movie was awesome and much better than transformers. I don't know why people want the movie to be like the 80s cartoon, I mean really do you what to see a movie with people dressed like the village people and highly elite soldiers with the aim of a blind person. I mean come on people. I loved Gi Joe back in the days but when you watch it now as an adult the show is awful, the only thing what keeps me glued to it though is nostalgia. Also what I liked about this instead of transformers is that I could actually see what was going on and who was fighting who. The story was also a simple story like an old school 80s b-movie with no crazy plot wholes like in transformers, can somebody please tell me why in the new transformers it seemed like no matter what part of the world they were in Sam parents were always magically appearing. Now don't get me wrong I loved the first Transformers but the new one sucked crying farting leg humping robots come on lol I did not see that at all in the 80s cartoon. The only thing they captured from the cartoon was the forest fight seen lol

Yes they do.

I saw the movie, and it was a bad movie. Having said that, I was still entertained the entire time.

I see now why the reviews are so mixed, as my own personal review is that way.

It was still way better than Transformers 2.

PS - This is the worst movie in terms of product placement I've ever seen, short of those movies which actually mock product placement (examples of movies mocking Product placement: Demolition Man, Wayne's World). The entire theater I was in laughed their butts off at the Norton reference.

saw it. it felt like this would have been a good movie. but it came out about 15 years too late. it had a 90's feel to it. just too corny.

I liked it a lot

A LOT better than both Transformers movies.

I think Sommers captured the spirit of GI Joe perfectly.
