The Losers Review Thread (Spoilers)

Some news on the Loser adaptation:

Jason Patric has joined the cast of "The Losers," the Warner Bros./Dark Castle adaptation of the DC-Vertigo comicbook.

Patric plays Max, a CIA agent who has gone off the rails and sets up the title characters, a black ops team, to be killed. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba also star.

It is the first true villain role and the first comicbook movie for an actor who is usually drawn to dark, edgy, adult-themed fare. Courted by Joel Silver (who produces with Akiva Goldsman), Patric was lured by the chance to work with director Sylvain White. He also decided to plug in with the young geek demo driving the box office these days.

"Let's face it, the geeks have inherited the world, and if you want to be a player in this system, you have to be willing to do some of this," Patric acknowledged. "But I wouldn't do 'The Losers' if it wasn't interesting to me as an actor."

Patric will not be there to chew the scenery, as some comicbook villains have.

The Losers' reimagining was set against events surrounding and including the War on Terror. Originally a Special Forces team seconded to the Central Intelligence Agency. in the 90s, the Losers were betrayed by their handler, Max, and left for dead following the conclusion of their operation. Eager for revenge and the opportunity to remove their names from a secret CIA death list, the Losers regroup and conduct covert operations against the CIA and its interests, uncovering startling operations spearheaded by the enigmatic Max, whose influence within the CIA and U.S. government is unparalleled.[1]

It seems more like GI Joe.

Sylvain White's big comic book adaptation of The Losers has been shooting in Puerto Rico for the last few months. It's one of a few comic book adaptations coming up next year that I'm looking forward to quite a bit, namely because the cast is so awesome. Thanks to Idris Elba's Twitter (via Collider), we now have our very first unofficial look at five of the Losers in costume on the set in Puerto Rico. From left to right, you'll see: Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Chris Evans, Oscar Jaenada, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Sure it's not much, but I think this looks cool, and I'm already getting excited for this just seeing basic shots like this.

I am not sure what the point of the thread is. Are you asking people if this sounds like this would make a good movie? If so, I can tell you by their colorful nicknames that is sounds like any other action/war B war flick. JMO

its an upcoming release in theaters and i put it up for people to see and discuss how hard is that to understand ?isn't that how a thread works ?

No, there's a film coming out CALLED The Losers, the trailer came out this weekend, I made a thread on it, AND Posted it in my awesome genius Trailer Thread.

I think it looks cool, I hope it's R Rated, I do whine at people for saying films should be R Rated. But this film generally needs it.
