Can some one tell me if what im seeing in these hd movies and hd stations the best im gona see on my tv for now. The only thing is we are not connected with a hdmi cable just some hd connection the cable company uses with digital cable set ups,

is this about the best?

You haven't seen the best from TV stations until you check out OTA-HD. Connect your TV to an antenna on top of your roof, flip on CSI: Miami on Monday night and prepare to be in awe!

The stations you are seeing are either 720p or 1080i depending on the station.

CSI:Miami looks amazing... Is it just me, or have they somewhat changed the look of the show to benefit HD? The colors they use this season and some of the land scapes just scream look at me, I'm in HD.

ABC & Fox are 720p. CBS and NBC are 1080i.

I actually haven't seen it this season. I based my comments about previous seasons. If this season looks even better then I guess I'll be tuning in on Monday nights again.

cable usually lowers resolution to broadcast more HD

but i think the set you bought the the sony 60 inch will look great as the bigger the set the better blu-ray looks
I'm looking forward to either buying kds60a2000 sony or JVC-61FC97

The biggest difference to me between cable/satellite and BD is the lack of macroblocking and noise. The audio is alot better and the content is basically more consistant. Keep in mind I just have a 32" 768p LCD. You on the other hand have a full 1080p 60". Your immersion and experience is going to vary greatly.

Ive noticed some shows/stations looking significantly better then others.
YesHd for instance kicks the crap out of fox hd for baseball.

I wish FX would get off their ass and have a HD station so I could watch nip tuck in HD glory!!!!

I found HD had more depth in video and clear detail like every single hair shown back in 2000 when i watched Masters golf game and i could see real depth when it came to bunkers.

just hate blurness of backgrounds and softness lack of 3d
if you go to any store and ask for HD shown on HDTV you get blur skintones and video exactly like 480i DVD quality
