Can you post what all you're settings are on the back of the sub and in you're receiver?

on the sub everything is off or set full left as svs suggests, the gain is set to half...my avr is all set to the right setting, small speakers, 80hz xover, and room corrected with audyssey...i know i have to do more with the placement as there are three distinct spot that the bass is exactly the way i want it to sound...two of which are the rear corners..of course the one place i get the least bass is in my seat so now that im going on weekend, ill be able to play around a little bit...
just sucks when you get your equipment all in the right spot and then have to move it..

its great...i have this bass cd from when i was younger and into car audio...theres a song that drops very low and my theater system was never able to reproduce this the way my car did until i got this sub....movies have become a whole new experience...sounded good before (didnt really know what i was missing), now they sound ...especially the belroc scene in lotr: fotr....can't wait to hear this again on blu

Are you sure it was bottoming out and not just a low you have never heard before you set the SVS up or something rattling in the room?

It may be just that. He should run a test tone or a bass test song like Woofer Cooker or Beats for My Van. That should be able to shake just about everything so you can pin-point anything that's vibrating and counter it.

After playing transformers yesterday I heard stuff rattle in my room that I have never heard rattle before (especially the opening plane scene). One was a strange sound I had thought my A2-300 was producing until I found the culprit, a metal candle holder with a glass dish on my mantle. You gota love that looow LFE

My windows and closet door shake violently if left unchecked. There are some other things I had to resettle to avoid them from shaking, like my bed.

My PC12-NSD sub has never bottomed out during this scene, and I have used it numerous times to test the low end capabilities of my sub. I'm sure there is a combination of things at work here as previously mentioned. But I too would be scared if I heard what I thought was the sub bottoming out too. It took me months and at least 12 different locations for my 2 subs to get them play nicely with each other and to get the most ouput and even bass response I wanted. After running REW, I found that I have finally located the best location for my subs and I have the piece of mind to go with it too. Keep tweaking and moving the subs eclimax, this sub can deliver everything you want it to once you get everything working together.

I forgot to spell that out, sorry about that eclimax. It is Room Equalizer Wizard. There is a thread in the Audio Discussion Form on it...REW Thread It is a free download that you use to measure your sub's frequency response in relation to the room's boundaries. It involves setting up your computer properly with a sound card, an SPL meter, add'l cables that hook up to your receiver and SPL meter and the computer's line in (not the mic in). I have a pic of my results within my gallery if you want to take a look at the results I got. After many attempts of moving my sub to what I thought was the best spot, I finally got it where I believe it sounds the best.

REW

Glad to hear you got the sub position down. Does it still bottom out on that Hulk scene? I'm curious because I'll need to find a good spot for mine so that I can try that scene again. It's the only scene so far that's made my sub bottom out
