Since we're discussing line drawing animation, I have never seen any on BD. I can't get into older Disney films anymore.

That being said, I am looking forward to a BD of 'The Iron Giant".

I'd love for the classic Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry to be released on Blu. But I can wait, I already own all the Golden Collection DVD's so I really don't want to replace them if there isn't much of a PQ upgrade. Same for Tom & Jerry. The only Disney films I want are Fantasia, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Alice in Wonderland on Blu.

To put it bluntly, you use "cartoon" to refer to a specific subgroup, when in fact the term applies to all subgroups of this type. The term is usually avoided in favor of more specific terms where appropriate (like Akira being "anime") and is often dropped in favor of more sophisticated terms (e.g., The Tales of the Black Freighter is more likely to be referred to as simply "animation" than a "cartoon" due to its mature nature), but that doesn't mean they don't all fall under the same category along with all traditional animation.
Uses of these terms vary wildly depending on who you're talking to. There are certainly people that use the terms in the same way you do but I wouldn't exactly say it's a "whole world vs me" situation, more like lots of shade of gray, no? Shall we just shake on it and agree to disagree?

I'm looking forward to seeing what Snow White looks like on blu. I've always thought it had a really unique animation style...almost like watercolors. Should be interesting to see how it turns out.

It'll be hard to tell when all of the anime formerly owned by ADV will ever be released on BD (at least I think "Elfen Lied" is an ADV release, I don't remember now ).

Regardless, at the rate anime is coming out on BD, it seems like it could be years before this or any other good adult-rated show will come out.

"Elfen Lied" was wicked, but I'm starting to get in the mood to watch "Gantz" again!
