No Hollywood Videos in my area, but at Blockbuster it's $4.99 regardless if it's a 2 day new release or 5 day catalog. It can vary by area though, as I had different prices in a different town I lived in. Might matter if it's corporate owned or franchise.

Another option with Blockbuster is the rent by mail through the blockbuster website. Blockbuster does not charge extra for blu-ray rentals. I subscribe to the $9 per month one disc at a time plan. I usually get 6-8 movies per month.

Hollywood video should be about the same as the Movie gallery I go to since Movie gallery owns hollywod. Movie gallery is $5.29 for 5 days where I'm at...or I know both places have the powerplay option where you get unlimited rentals (3 out at a time) with no late fee's for $130 for 3 months...

Whenever I've used Netflix there has always been a long wait for new Blu-rays, so I've found Blockbuster Online to be a better option due to their in-store exchanges because they usually have new Blu-rays in stock. My Blockbuster also has a program where you can get unlimited movies and games for $20 (I think) a month, although you can only have 1 movie or game out at a time. Not sure if that's a national program.
