No Hollywood Videos in my area, but at Blockbuster it's $4.99 regardless if it's a 2 day new release or 5 day catalog. It can vary by area though, as I had different prices in a different town I lived in. Might matter if it's corporate owned or franchise.

5 days for $5 is an option, but also $2 for one night, which is still your best option, at least until Redbox features blu-rays.

Another option with Blockbuster is the rent by mail through the blockbuster website. Blockbuster does not charge extra for blu-ray rentals. I subscribe to the $9 per month one disc at a time plan. I usually get 6-8 movies per month.

I hadn't heard of this. Where do you live? I'd love if my local redboxes got blu-rays. Are they still $1?

Thanks.

Ouch.
I live in Canada as well but I never rented a BD before. I'll check this weekend and see what the price is.

That's too funny. When we had our youngest last year, I was wondering the same thing after the ultra sound. "If we would have waited another year or so, they would be putting this ultra sound on Blu Ray instead of DVD."
