I heard Shaws released one title, under Celestial Pictures, Opium and The Kung Fu Master on BR, but never heard much about the pq, aq, etc. Anyone here?

It would be a miracle if any old school, obscure, kung fu flicks make it to Blu-Ray. I am sure a lot of the films are rotting away in vaults. I would like to see:

Shaolin Deadly Kicks

&

Guy With Secret Kung Fu

Plus, all the Jackie Chan, Bruce Li, and Jet Li films.

That title was released here in the States, unfortunate the studio that released it is out of business. So we won't be seeing anything else from them even though they were going to do Life Gamble starring Fu Sheng. I rented Opium and the Kung Fu Master from Netflix and the quality is very good. I bought Opium and I can tell you the quality is very good, I would say get it if you can.

Actually, the entire Shaw Brothers martial arts library has been lovingly restored by Celestial Pictures, frame-by-frame in high-def. Watch the video at the bottom of this page:

Also, Bruce Lee's HK films are already out on blu-ray - Fist of Fury, Big Boss and Way of the Dragon (9/30/09) and Jackie Chan's "Police Story" comes out on blu-ray next week.

I have Opium And The Kung-Fu Master. The Blu-ray is decent, but do not expect stunning visual quality from it. My problems with it are more due to the goofy story and average kung-fu action in it. Supposedly the BD for Life Gamble was completed and looked spectacular, but was never pressed in mass quantities before BCI went out of business.

I was wondering if the quality would look any good on Blu-ray, it's one of the reason why I have hestitated...although I may have a interest in Super Ninjas if released.

I'm wondering if they would be barebone releases?

I would love to see the Shaw brothers library released in remastered in Blu-ray (English Dubbed in 5.1). Also Donnie Yen, Jet Li and Chow yun-fat movies
