Yes. I'll be the judge. If I think it looks terrible(which I doubt) I'll ebay it. I'm sure it will sound incredible.

That is the one thing that would really bother me. I don't expect to see anything different than you though after viewing it really and thanks for posting your experience.

It is going to be a rental my first viewing though before I open my purchase as I do want to take advantage of the $10 off BB is offering for buying both BH and Gladiator as I really like both of those movies. If watching the latter is totally sickening, it will be returned.

It may force a re-release though but who the heck knows though I think the way this was released was debated between the cost factor of a new transfer and going the way they decided. Now they will deal with the aftermath afterwards but that was probably figured upon also..

I missed the early review. Someone gave it a bad pq rating i guess? How bad is the pq? Someone have the link of this review? Hopefully its only for gladiator and not braveheart as well

Braveheart has a great transfer so no worries with that one. Gladiator's transfer is similar to Gangs of New York.

I watched the standard dvd last night (DTS ES) and it rocked!! The picture can't be worse. The audio WILL be better. I have a $5 reward zone coupon.

So that brings me down to a 15,49 Blu for both. Not a bad deal at all.

Yes, I am getting this since it will only cost me $19 CDN taxes in... If I had to pay $30, I would defintely have to reconsider

Yes he gave it a solid rating but when you read the end of the article he says..

I kinda question his review & scale...He says it's quite watchable and well below standard in the same review. Which is it?

I don't like what I'm hearing about the the jump in pic quality between the theatrical and extended scenes. I've never seen the extended version.

It's in the same vain that this Blu-ray looks like crap and is still an improvement over the dvd. One doesn't mean the other.
I'm not buying this. If I want to look at a shoddy picture, I'll watch the dvd again. There's no need to spend more than 20 bucks on a slightly 'better' picture.

Considering that I've already bought Gladiator twice on DVD after reading the reviews I'll wait. If the price goes down I might bite. I have a feeling there will be a lot of used copies out there pretty soon, but hopefully there is a re-release down the line.
